Indian Navy's New Helicopter-Launched Missiles

After living for 14 years without helicopter-launched anti-ship cruise missiles, the Indian Navy (IN) will this June re-equip itself with such missiles with the arrival of about 100 Kongsberg HSMs that will arm the 24 Lockheed Martin/Sikorsky MH-60R shipborne naval multi-role helicopters that are on order for the IN.

It may be recalled that the IN had MBDA-built Sea Eagle subsonic helicopter-launched anti-ship cruise missiles that were service-inducted back in 1988 and were decommissioned in 2008.

The HSMs are likely to be followed by the DRDO-developed and Bharat Dynamics Ltd-built NASM-SR missiles. The maiden test-firing of the NASM-SR from an IN Sea King Mk.42B was conducted on May 18, 2022. At least nine more test-firings in both single-mode and ripple-fire mode will be required to be conducted before the NASM-SR is cleared for service-entry sometimes in 2025.

R & D work is also underway on developing a 130km-range, high-subsonic NASM-MR variant (usable by both airborne LRMR/ASW platforms and principal surface combatants) that will make use of the IMR seeker now board the BrahMos-1 Extended-Range supersonic multi-role cruise missile.

  1. After seeing this Sea Eagle ASCM realized NAG designers are not that mad to have multiple exhaust nozzle.

Why next tranche of KI Vajra is not being ordered and its supporting vehicle..
Is any effort going on to purchase heavy torpedo for scorpion submarine fleet..

Does Recent France visit by PM Modi include additional purchase of scorpion class submarine and what will be fate of Rafale..36 would not make any difference
Is combined order by Navy and airforce on

Can NASM SR be launched from navalised Rudra..And tejas...
What are the main impediment of ITCM or Nirbhay missile..Program.
Does India need 10thousand such missile for next decade if It wants to make parity with pakistan and chinese combined fire power..
Big ticket Procurement of navy like proposed helicopter carrier and 5 replenishment ship is in limbo..
Is India thinking for more C130 and CH 47 in large number for tactical lift
Hope your good suggestion of making air launched version of Prahara /Pinaka/Pralay missile will reach the concerned authority.. ..

  7. 1) Has giving up aug 2020 positions has resulted in us permanently losing potential offensive edge in Kailash range? With a new road and two bridges chinese seem to be countering them permanently.

    2) We once talked about humvee based mobile divisions but you shot it down as too vulnerable to atgm fire. But now with army giving out RFI for MRAP sized 14T vehicles is it possible to convert some vanilla infantry division mounted on truck to semi mechanized?
What advantages do regular infantry trucks have over mobile APC/MRAPS?
    1 M4 type can carry a 2 crew + 8 man section. 12 can carry a company.
Adding 6 vehicles each with 14.5 mm RWS and 40 mm Mk19 AGL RWS will give heavy firepower boost at 1.5 km LOS to each company. More ballistic protection than trucks.

    Thanks in advance.

You have frequently pointed out about the use of bmp/Tank chassis mounted heavy mortars. PRC uses 120mm mortars, the Russians seem to use the 240mm Tank Chassis mounted Tyulpan mortars to good effect.

This serms to be the kind of weapon that India could deploy indigenously & would be useful against both PRC & Paxtan. The other utility besides vertical strikes is their ability to launch loitering drones.

  9. To ANUP: Because India wants semiconductor foundries for producing 65-nanometre & 45-nanometre microchips, whereas the TSMC facility in Singapore will produce 7-nanometre microchips. Watch this:

To T9BK8: Not at all. During wartikme such bridges will be easy targets for the IA’s artillery fire-assault Batteries located in northwest Chushul.

To RAD: Why not? The NASM-SR can easily be integrated with both MH-60R & P-8I since the missile’s integration source-codes (reqd by the platforms’ weapons management system) are DRDO-owned & therefore can easily be shared with Boeing, Raytheon & Northrop Grumman. IIR seekers for ATGMs (Nag & HELINA) & NASM-SR & AD-1 have been perfected for mass-production using Israel-supplied microchips (reqd for focal plane arrays & staring gate arrays) while the seeker for MANPADS/VSHORADS is still in the developmental stage.

    https://theprint.in/defence/india-to-ink-repeat-order-deal-for-73000-sig-716-rifles-from-the-us/962103/

To SANJEEV: No. It was postponed to June 2022.

To BUDDHA: Because those contracts are still being negotiated. NASM-SR is too big for Naval Dhruv ALH. However, HELINA & SANT can go on board. Subsonic cruise missiles are rapidly becoming obsolete due to advances in SAMs capable of knocking out such cruise missiles.

To VSJ: 1) Not at all, fo such feats can be repeated. The IA has only withdrawn from such dominating positions but not permanently. 2) here’s the latest RFI:

    https://indianarmy.nic.in/writereaddata/RFI/836/RFIDGST19052022.pdf

LSVs, LAMVs & PMVs are all used for different missions during peacetime & war. For instance, watch this video about how the PLAGF uses its MGS along with LAMVs & PMVs:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDbISyf8D14

To KAUSTAV: Weapons like Tyulpan are ‘siege’ weapons designed for FIBUA battles. The IA shirks away from FIBUA-type engagements & that’s why even in 1971 the IA formations in East Pakistan did not bother to take on the PA forces that were entrenched in towns & cities. In fact, the IA does not even have field manual dealing with FIBUA battles. Even in future battles against China & Pakistan, the IA has no plan for capturing any town or city in the plains & highlands.

  10. Dear Prasun,

    Greetings!!

came across article on HAL indigenization of fighters & helicopters achieved till 2019, does it hold true as of 2022, if not whether there is any chance to increase/achieve in location of content upto 90% (for ongoing HAL orders) in next 5 years.

Article say " HAL produced and produces MiG-21, MiG-27 and Su-30MKI aircraft under license from the USSR/ Russia, Jaguars and Hawks from the UK, Dornier Do-228 from Germany and Chetak and Cheetah helicopters from France. The degree of indigenisation achieved is broken down into indigenisation by content and indigenisation by value. By these measures, in the past, India achieved 90 per cent indigenisation by content of the Chetak (72 per cent of its engine), 88 per cent of the Jaguar (84 per cent of its engine) and over 96 per cent of the MiG-21b is engine, again by content.

In more recent times, HAL has achieved a 75 per cent indigenisation by content of the Su-30MKI (60 per cent by value), 72 per cent indigenisation by content of the BAE Hawk (42 per cent by value) and 73 per cent by content of the Do-228 (40 per cent by value). Contractual decisions as to indigenisation levels by content and value are decided by the priority to be given to the project and the timelines involved.

HAL has two indigenous designs in production – the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas and the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv. The former is 75 per cent indigenous by content and 60 per cent indigenous by value while the latter is 75 per cent indigenous by content and 52 per cent indigenous by value.

2.How many LMG per section?1 or 2? Some say one, some 2,some say one in mountains and 2 in plains.

3.Do we have Carl gustav in every section in infantry battalions(non-mech).Or at platoon level?

4.There were reports that army had set up plans to reorganize infantry battalions into 3 companies instead of 4,new strength of 170 men each, eliminating one Company HQ of 25men.Each section would increase to 14 men. What do you think of this plan's merits and has it made any progress or dead with General Rawat's passing?

  20. To PINKAL SHAH: So what do such figures reveal? The indigenisation levels by material content value for imported levels have been achieved when the concerned platforms have already approached the end of their operational service-lives. For instance, the T-72Ms began being licenced=-produced in 1988 & even by 2020 only 80% was indigenised. The same will be the case with Su-30MKI. On the other hand, when it comes to indigenously developed platforms like ALH & LCA, the pace of indigenisation of materials has been much quicker (with the timeframe being cut almost by half). Hence, it stands to reason that more & more indigenous platforms need to be service-inducted without any interruption.

To TOLOLING: 1, 2, 3 & 4) Such figures are openly available online. USMC ORBAT is totally different from those of others as the USMC has an expeditionary role to play. In India only the 50 Para Brigade has such a role.

To T9BK8: It is the other way around, i.e. only conventional warhead-equipped SS-BSMs have self-destruct mechanisms. Nuclear warhead-equipped BMs have PALS, not self-destruct mechanisms. This is what PALS is:

    https://www.cs.columbia.edu/~smb/nsam-160/pal.html

To VENKY: The RFQs will contain the specific parameters. Such videos are all part of disinformation efforts.

To JUST_CURIOUS: 1) Not reqd, as the range is only up to the horizon. 2) It can be done, since the reqd skilled human resources can come via outsourcing for the sake of procuring the reqd proprietary IPRs. 3) QUAD is multi-faceted, but the core military aspects will be dealt with by AUKUS & the Five Eyes grouping. 4) There exists different types of airborne minesweeping gear. The heavier ones are used by the CH-53s of the US Navy & Japan’s MSDF. ALH cannot do the job. This is the Raytheon kit:

    https://www.raytheonmissilesanddefense.com/what-we-do/naval-warfare/sensors/airborne-mine-neutralization-system

    5) They are interested in the QUAD’s AUKUS component. 6) No harm in hosting such demonstrations for as long as they are on a no-cost no commitment basis.

To F: If the Tejas LCA is to be sold to Malaysia then the following Israel-origin hardware needs to be replaced with comparable hardware from US/European sources: A) EL/M-2055 AESA-MMR. B) TARGO HMDS. C) Litening LDP & RecceLite pod.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRFUwMqDQWk

The panellists are flagging the very same issues that I have consistently flagged over the years.

    3) The requirement is the high frequency (HF), Ultra High Frequency (UHF) and Very High Frequency (VHF). Indian army’s Corp of Signals is the lead agency for the programme. The Indian Air Force (IAF) is expected to order around 5,000 SDRs, which would include both hands held and airborne (for aircraft) sets. Rest will go to Indian Navy. The combined requirement for the three services--Army, Navy, and Air Force is over 55,000 wherein the Army’s share is around 50,000 of these radios.

    https://indianarmy.nic.in/writereaddata/RFI/837/Sigs5EoI240522.pdf

    4) It is not just about a single CDS being appointed. The last time this was done, it created only chaos & confusion. In India, decision-makers are obsessed with personality-centric phenomena & that’s why starting from the very top we have hundreds of PM’s Yojanas & vaccination drives, when in reality they need to be presented as inclusive all-India initiatives. These malpractices then percolate down to, for instance, the armed services, with several past & present service chiefs labelling their services as ‘organisations’ when in reality they are ‘institutions’. That’s why only the post of CDS was accorded publicity & priority without first creating the institution of the CDS, i.e. the post of CDDS should have been accompanied by the post of Vice-CDS & a range of Deputy CDSes, with one of them (the Chief of the Integrated Defence Staff or CIDS) heading the Dept of Military Affairs dedicated to the overseeing & guiding of capital procurement projects, thereby leaving the CDS to focus exclusively on formulation of joint warfighting doctrines & the consequent theaterisation of joint geographic commands. That’s how it is done in the rest of the world, except in India.

To DASHU: here are the latest violations of Indian airspace by UAVs:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tikIakC8cac
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlQScw-iRfo&t=37s

Ever since the Kashmiri Pandits were accommodated in makeshift camps in Jammu & elsewhere since early 1990, not a single Indian PM or Union Home Affairs Minister has visited any such camp. That alone proves how much successive Govts of India have cared about the plight of such internally displaced communities!!!

To ANWAY: That is only a wishlist. Not a single direct offsets contract has been inked to date.

To AMIT BISWAS: Not if the IA is of the view that it won’t ever engage in any FIBUA/MOUT engagements for the sake of securing its battlefield objectives. For example, under a nuclear overhang, the IA won’t even consider taking the battle into the adversary’s populated areas like Phillora or Sialkot or Shakargarh.

That would be wonder full to stop the enemy trying to search track and lock on to su -30. after all all airborne fighter radars seem to have th x band as their operational freq.?

the drive also says that russian avionics use american processors. now where do we go from here as the its quite obvious that the super su-30mki aesa radar will be using american processors and that makes the super sukhoi a dream?

Some suggestions are that India should now go after those that have insulted shivlings & file FIRs. That would be internationally stupid, if not universally so.

India's moves on the Ukrainian Issue & how India restricts it's Oil purchases hereon . To all Indians remember this spectacle of real 'SAB PE NIRBHAR'. No Atmanirbhar country gives in to such pressures unless they are really not so. The wannabe Vishwaguru has just found that they are still junior students where the US is the senior Headmaster & the US's own favourite senio student Qatar just disciplined the new Junior with a sound whacking as Secretary Blinken directed

  56. Why are we letting this tiny, terrorist-sponsoring country Qatar humiliate us and dictate our internal affairs? Now these gulf jihadis will butt into every discussion about South Asian Muslims. Where's their f**king solidarity for Chinese genocide of Uighers?

This is why IN is asking for 3 CVNs and we have foolishly ignored that. Next time this happens, we need to blockade their peninsula and threaten an amphibious assault unless they learn to shut up. Use RAW and start assassinating these fat sheikhs.

Also BJP's handling of Hindu-Muslim issues is so stupid. They are using Hindus as votebank, but we keep loosing to their shortsighted policies. USA will achieve its goal of balkanizing this country unless we start thinking rationally and strategically. India is too much a potential competitor for them to trust us. The fault lies with India. Like Prasun said earlier, India ought to parade the captured terrorists in J&K and get them to speak to the camera re: their identity and also display the slain terrorists thereby proving that these guys are crossing over from Pakistan and they are not Indian nationals. India needs to also show foreign journalists and diplomats the actual ground situation and security operations against the militants and terrorists NOT average civilians. There ought to be more public relations campaign to show the world how ordinary Kashmiris are suffering as a result of Pakistani sponsored violence. Instead the Indian government is keeping silent and shutting down media like China does thereby encouraging conjecture and rumour.

  61. To KAUSTAV: Yes, indeed. On one hand one proclaims that there’s ZERO tolerance for terrorism but in practice one is displaying inexhaustible tolerance to continued violations of Indian airspace by Pakistan! The MRFA will indeed be the Rafale but there will be NO licenced-production due to financial/industrial that I have given numerous times before. If it costs 2.5 times more to licence-build third-generation MRCAs like Su-30MKI, then it stands to reason that it will cost up to 6.5 times more to licence-build a Gen-4 M-MRCA like Rafale or any other Gen-4 MRCA. No one can dispute this fact. Hence, all those claiming that the MRFA will be licence-built in India are either IDIOTS, or are spectacularly ignorant of ground realities.

To ANKIT KUMAR: LoLz! That’s FAKE NEWS. In addition, the MRFA will indeed be the Rafale but there will be NO licenced-production due to financial/industrial that I have given numerous times before. To JUST_CURIOUS: Japan is very strong in cutting-edge naval technologies like integrated masts & distributed active phased-array radars, plus composites-built warship sub-structures. To RAD: As I had stated before, the PL-12 BVRAAM is equipped with active radar-homing seeker developed by Ukraine’s Radionix. It uses a dual-thrust solid rocket motor and can exceed Mach 4 and endure 38 G. The missile’s omnidirectional sensors are accurate to within 1 metre. Its active radar seeker is the Ka-band ‘Onyx’ from Radionix, which has a range of 25km, search area of +/-40 degrees in azimuth and elevation and offers “fire-and-forget” capabilities. It has a 24kg warhead and uses a radio proximity fuse. Initial versions of the PL-12 had used the Russia-origin Agat/Istok 9B-1350E Ku-band seekers. The latest PL-15 BVRAAM, under development since 2009, was first test-fired on September 15, 2015. The missile weighs 210kg, has a range of 145km and uses a dual-pulse, smokeless solid-propellant rocket motor for extended range (two fuel chambers and one exhaust nozzle) that was originally developed by south Africa’s Denel Dynamics for the ‘Marlin’ BVRAAM. For long-range engagements the first pulse fires and the missile glides towards its target before the second pulse fires at a later point in time. For shorter engagements, both pulses can be fired almost simultaneously. Top speed is close to Mach 4. The active radar seeker is the Ka-band ‘Onyx’. Flight control is by servo motor-controlled fins. The PL-15’s airframe can sustain 30 G and its leading edges can function in temperatures of both -50 degrees Celsius and + 900 degrees Celsius once launched.

PESA-MMRs cannot be used for duirectional jamming. Only AESA-MMRs can.

To SHUKANTH CHATRATH: None. Only a flying airborne testbed like a modified IL-76MD is reqd.

To ASD: LoLz! Since childhood, I have seen scantily-clad Indian Gods & Goddesses being drawn in AMAR CHITRA KATHA comic-books. The same goes for several Indian movies & soap-operas in various languages. Here are a few of them:

Should we also lock horns over why the likes of Krishna, Rama & Shiva have been portrayed with brown skin complexion when traditionally they have bluish skin complexion? Therefore, to single out just M F Hussein will be an act of dishonesty. But you are not the only one who has fallen victim to such confusion. Matters have worsened to such an extent that sects & cults are now opposing one another through competitive benchmarking both in northern & southern India & hence no one has the patience to listen to the likes of the RSS supremo. For instance, the Karni Sena has openly questioned the ‘generosity’ of Hindi-speaking Hindu litigants of Ayodhya, Kashi & Mathura & instead it wants some 3,500 Mosques to be re-converted to Temples no matter what the cost (even if it means waging war against India by any means). The VHP has adopted a similar stance. Down south the Shri Ram Sena has adopted its own stance & will not obey the diktats of Hindi-speaking ‘Hindus’. And finally, we have the self-styled convenors of the ‘Dharam Sansads’ who are now engrossed in infighting, i.e. it was always a money-making exercise, as revealed here:

    ReplyDelete
  63. To ASD, KAUSTAV & ARJUN: Let’s stick to factoids & existing ground realities. And what are they?

    1) The protests & denunciations from India’s Muslim wellwishers have come ONLY BECAUSE what was being propagated by the BJP’s spokespersons about the Holy Prophet was FACTUALLY WRONG.

    2) Those wellwishing countries in the Middle East, North Africa & Southeast Asia have not uttered a word about the India’s domestic communal convulsions & confrontational rhetoric that have been churned out both in the streets & in various TV channels since the combined Ram Navami/Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations. And they NEVER will make any comment on India’s domestic politics.

    3) It has YET to be established beyond reasonable doubt whether the structure within the Gyanvapi Mosque is a Shivling or a fountain (just like the ASI has conclusively proven that the Qutub Minar was in reality a Surya Stambh for making astronomical calculations & determining the seasons). In fact, the Varanasi court has not displayed wisdom by asking for only a visual survey to be conducted. The court should have demanded that the ASI conduct a comprehensive survey, including the usage of ground-mapping radars, to establish whether the disputed structure had any direct water-source so as to act as a fountain. Had this been done, matters would have become crystal-clear last month itself.

    4) That the BJP’s concerned spokespersons were ill-informed & uneducated about religiosity-related issues is now proven beyond doubt, since they fell into the trap set by the likes of AIMIM. The BJP should have exercised restraint & waited for the courts of law of issued their definitive verdicts. Instead, such spokespersons & certain BJP ministers from UP & MP have constantly stoked the fires, which in turn emboldened the spokespersons to cross the red-lines.

    5) And why do such reed lines have to be adhered to? Simply because none of those spokespersons & BJP ministers from UP & MP & retards like Tejaswi Surya ever bothered about the plight of 8.7 million Indians of all religious faiths that could face possible backlashes in the Middle East, as explained here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9MzGuHEytM

    6) Therefore, we can conclude that the sheer stupidity of the BJP’s apex-level party decision-makers has resulted in India’s soft power taking a tremendous hit & enormous embarrassment, especially after India’s MEA totally failed to take pro-active measures in trying to limit the damage & instead waited for 10 days before waking up.

    7) Lastly, my personal view is that the likes of Nupur Sharma should undergo lessons on religiosity-related consciousness so as not to propagate falsehoods & since she has publicly tendered an unconditional apology, she should be forgiven & all cases against her should be withdrawn, since both Allah & the Holy Prophet are all-merciful & compassionate. Whether India’s Muslims who are now up in arms against Nupur Sharma will follow the Holy Prophet’s footsteps remains to be seen. The ball in now in their courts.

    1. The age of Aisha at the time of her marriage is refered as 6 and consummation at 9 yrs in al bukhari. There are however interpretations through logical cross referencing that puts her age as 19 at the time of marriage and 21 during consummation. There is no consensus in different schools of islamic jurisprudence on her age. The wahabi school of thought, reflected also in indias deobandi school strictly interprets her age as per al bukhari 6-9 yrs. While what is happening in India is unfortunate and hilarious, with this nupur sharma episode you will see more chutiyapas by indian muslim leaders, who on drop of a hat have put prize money on her head, but are still to logically counter her arguments. The more they illogically rant against her, the stronger her image will become. If she gets killed, she will be a martyr, creating in the process more people who would further quote Al Bukhari to embarrass Indian Muslims. But then thats what you call as Karma.

For the first 10 years or so nobody accepted his teachings people accepted his teachings only after he resorted to violence against non believers. Here in my hometown in Haryana today we are at peace because we got rid of these people back in 1947 itself. Muslim's cannot justify prophet Muhammad's marriage with a 6 year old girl. Muslim's have very narcissistic view of others where they consider themselves as believers and others as non believers.

    8. Is the DRDO developing a satellite launch vehicle different from ISRO's vehicles ? Is this to separate the civilian and military space programs ? If so, around what timeframe can we expect its first launch ?

Rohit Gill- you got part of the assessment eight. Please red through my assessment before getting agitated. Quran has two phases. The first one was the one where Muhammed tried to win followers through peace. However the second phase is where he decreed Islam has to prevail over everyone and everything be it through force or otherwise and this phase has superseded the first phase of his ministry. Thankfully not everyone ardently follows the Mecca decree. However India has been home to Muslims and many have remained some of the world's most non fundamental Muslims. It is the BJP led government which started stoking communal hatred by equating Pakistani sponsored and instigated fundamentalism and terrorism with all Muslims. Today, Hindus in India or rather a large section identifying as Hindus, have become exactly the same as fundamentalist Muslims - highly intolerant, paranoid and prepared to blame all national woes to non-Hindus. No one is denying the peaceful, loyal Muslims of India are now not under threat from fundamentalism. But this is due to Pakistani funded Mullahs propagating hate and threatening to destroy the co-existence that made India an envy of the world. So what needs to happen is a review of both sides - who is responsible for creating such division? This is 21st Century where in the West only 1% people believe in God whereas in India and the sub continent, religion still controls people. No missile or defence shield will ever protect such countries that choose to deliberately destroy its own people through calculated racial and religious bigotry. I personally believe the Muslim agitation is imposed by Pakistan and it is succeeding in fomenting internal violence to achieve its purpose. Indian netas are using this as an opportunity to blame-shift their impotence on to Muslims or Pakistan without actually doing anything. It is time to really take the war to Kashmir and make those responsible for subversion a lesson. Enough softly softly approach. This should also apply to those bastards living in the West and never intending to live in a Khalistan of their making but creating unrest. If I was the PM, I will give Sikhs for Justice justice that they deserve! Not one politician stands up internationally and points out how come military entering the Golden Temple a sacrilege and yet a thug residing in there and carrying on thuggery, violating and shaming the great Sikh Gurus and such noble faith not a sacrilege?

    1. I think you have inaccurately assessed the situation. One needs to dive a little deep in indian history and understand the cause for present day issues. It is purile to blame one party like BJP for the wrongs. The problem is much more deep rooted in indian psyche and stems from lack of determination to succeed in eradicating symptoms still bring displayed post partition in an increasingly virulent political islamisation going on.

Since every one is expressing opinions, here is mine FWIW

India might have been shamed but the BJP has won here and again its an opinion and I could be wrong :

    1) The Gulf doesn't care about Indian Muslims, which isn't news. They raised an issue and also commended Modi for swift action and since then moved on. No major impact on India relations. Infact India has roundly criticised the Islamic countries & OIC as being narrow minded bigots issuing a public communication. Subsequently India has threatened Qatar & other Gulf nations over food security which thanks to war in Ukraine & sanctions in Russia puts India in a control position on both wheat & rice in this zone. The potential for blackmail with food is already visible. Meanwhile, India uses this as an excuse to ramp up Russian crude oil imports while exporting refined petroleum products from Indian refinery companies as there is no traceability of crude oil origin & no sanctions as yet on India. That this is part of the hybrid war on petro-dollar which both sides could have been handled differently. This won't be good for anyone and India's opportunistic use & cooperation with Russia is evident. But money & big business trumps morality any day.

    2) With the Friday mob and India's violence, many liberal hindus have also been further polarized to go for the BJP. While these riots wouldn't stop the rioters since they are a mob of thousands, governments in BJP ruled states will use this opportunity to use strong arm tactics aa seen in UP. Again this is securing votebank

    3) A selected verse painted a picture of Islam to a set of larger audience and re affirmed (rightly or wrongly) acertain viewpoint of Islam. It's obvious that if rhis heads to the courts Nupur Sharma wins since these are recorded & announced by Muslim preachers too. The matter isn't even so unique since most religions have similar instances & these things happened hundreds of years ago. Nupur Sharma is obviously looking for her day in court because that's where her rehab lies. She wins in court & she is back with a LS ticket. Ditto for Jindal.

A win win for the BJP.🤔

  89. Dear Kaustav,

A win for BJP need not mean a win for India. If you think in the long term, none of the outcomes will benefit our Country.
    Why?
Time and again we have seen, that domestic instability and religious based divisional narratives in the political arena doesn't help any country - yes this does help a certain sect of media / political nexus.
As a country, we must steer our conversations to real issues and not manufactured ones. I think on this forum, mainly by Prasunda and also by many others it has been amplified on what are few of the real issues.
I am an Indian and what religion my beliefs are should be in my personal space - bringing this, in public space in a multicultural society like ours, may cause dis-comfort to other fellow citizens which I try to avoid. This is what I am supposed to do as an Indian.

I am imoressed by the research the chinks have done to make an electromagnetic sysytem. How did they beat the US and how did they make the very high power handling electronics to drive the system.?surely they will get a boost in operational range withe the su-27 . BUt can they make the su-27 strong enought to be pulled by the EM gun?

BUt in the indian scenario i am not too worried as... if they enter the indian waters as a battle group which they will eventually do.. a salvo of brahmos and zircon can easily stop them in their tracks. Do u share my optimism.?
do u think the zircon AKA bramoss -2 will be manufactured in collaboration like the brahmos or a bought out item as it is very high tech? the front end of the zircon is wedge shaped for aerodynamic reasons. where is the place for a radar seeeker?
what is the homing system on the zircon?
