These seem to be on going for years. How close is the research on hypersonic & laser system to be field tested?
can you pls comment on the following.. http://www.defencenews.in/article.aspx?id=583398 looks like Russia is playing traunt on co-dev of hypersonic missiles bramhos 2
Apparently the hanwa Biho has been selected beating Russia's Tunguska and Pantsyr. Is it just financial bid and US sanctions that swung decision towards the Koreans? What about TOR M2 systems to fill the air defence gaps in areas like J&K?
Thank you sirji for your explanation. Here are some serious developments: -US moves B-52 and fully armed F-15 to Qatar. -Ultimately,IMF is said to have agreed with Pakistan for bail-out package. 1.Do you think there are any chances of any armed conflict between US and Iran? 2.Do you think now Pakistan would be forced to give-up or atleast compromise on their nukes in future? 3.Some analysts are saying that Pakistan could evade FATF blacklisting this year. What do you think?
Thanks sir.
BTW,Here is an excellent video of Arif Aajakia who wasMayor of Jamshed Town in Karachi: https://youtu.be/GcirDrcXQEw
I find it hard to believe that we cannot produce K-30 like systems, even after 70+ years of independence and 1 billion plus people.
I guess after the type of election we have had where a nation less than 1/5 of our's has dominated the narrative, what can one expect. Maybe we are a nation born to be dominated!!!
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xuVi9I4yBA0 Does DRDO or indian private firm is investing to develop such 70mm precision guided rocket in house as there is huge market in indian armed forces.
To buddha: OFB is seeking quotations from national and international defence manufacturers for manufacturing these rockets indigenously!!!
Prasun sir, has their been any improvement on indigenous ammunition production by OFB??? coz recently they manufactured a bulk of 7.54mm ammo ( is it for dragunov ) is any substantial happening for ammunition prodution?
Sir whats happening with the Indian Navy? I don't want to call them incompetent but this chain of accidents have put a question mark on their prodessionism. Rwcently one sailor died because of a fire accident on INS Vikramaditya. Now there are reports of INS Arihant getting damaged 10 months ago because one of its hatch was left opened. What's the current status of the submarine? What's wrong with the Navy.
To JUST_CURIOUS: What research??? Engineered solutions in both these arenas have been available since the 1960s as are their industrial patents. All that is reqd is industrial innovation to produce such solutions. Don’t therefore fall for this FALSE categorisation of engineers as ‘scientists’ by the DRDO. The slides uploaded above are all from a closed–door DRDO symposium held 4 days ago & sponsored by IDSA in which the presentation was given by Dr G Satheesh Reddy. Except for the DRDO’s Life Sciencies-related activities, no other in-house activity concerens research by any srreetch of imagination, rest assured. Nor is there anything to be developed WRT BrahMos-2 because it is nothing else but the ZIRCON, which has already been fully developed.
To PIERRE ZORIN & ANUP: Yes, that news is true. A country that prides herself on ‘developing’ space applications rocket launchers, ICBMs & SLBMs finds it impossible to develop a homegrownb AAA solution. And to make matters worse, the IA on one hand is satisfied with 30mm cannons as SPAAG, but it wants 35mm AAA cannons capable of firing AHEAD-type ammo at the same time for the air-defence of fixed installations/sites. And all this while knowing fully well that AHEAD-type ammo is available from only 1 OEM, i.e. Rheinmetall Defense!!! So if the IA’s decision-makers are so convoluted, then surely one can expect nothing less from the PM who is of the view that clouds impede the movements of radars waves!!!
To JASGILL: The AH-64EU Guardian Apache’s Longbow variant will be rolled out in the near future, rest assured.
To PRAJJWAL DALAL: 1) Yes, definitely so, just like in 1988 when the US Navy destroyed some Iranian oil terminals in Larak Island. 2) Yes, because the IMF has insisted that Pakistan reduce its non-developmental expenbditure (i.e. defence budget) by 20%. Yet no one seems to be focusing on this within India’s ‘desi’ patrakaar’ communities.
To DEPESSED01: Why is that so hard to believe? Haven’t you heard about accusations of corruption even when the best solution available is acquired (i.e. the AW-101 for VVIP transportation by the IAF)? After all, isn’t India the only country in the world where one can get away with accusations of having to pay bribes for selecting the world’s best product (and not some second-grade/third-grade product)? Didn’t you know that officials of Bofors AB had as far back as 1989 gone to India & had revealed in writing to the PMO the names & details of all the beneficiaries of commission payments? Why then have successive PMOs desisted from revealing all such details with India’s Parliament? Therefore, I’m afraid whether you like it or not, India will continue to be a country whose ‘netas/leaders’ will always insist that 2 + 2 always equals either 3 or 5, but never 4. Consequently India is beyond both hope & despair.
BUT & BTW, the OFB has been producing 68mm rockets of this type since the 1960s for the IAF’s Mysteres & later the Jaguars & MiG-21s. So why can’t such 68mm rockets & their launchers be developed & produced for the Rudra/LCH/LUH? Is there no one among 130 crore Indian citizens who has the brains to think about this option?
And finally, my predictions about the THAAD seem to be coming true:
Indian Ambassador Harsh Vardhan Shringla on US-India Relations:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxtyTk428pY
To SUJOY MAJUMDAR & KAUSTAV: LoLz! Another one of the beloved PM’s Eureka(!) moments, I suppose. It can therefore be safely concluded that the PM’s 45 years of TAPASYAA/Penance was devoid of any classes/lectures about the laws of physics & in that case, what a wasted 45 years of such Tapasyaa/penance!!! So, in the end, can we also conclude that all talk of India being the oldest civilization & the land that produced outstanding ancient scientists/mathematicians/internet innovators (thanks to that Maha/Param RaamChhaggol who is Tripura’s present-day CM) & God-knows-what-else-is-to-follow has been coming from a person who either did not attend even a single Physics classroom or at best was inattentive when such classes were underway during his school-going days? I cannot but remain aghast at the sheer endurance of such ‘netas’ who never get tired of reducing India to the world’s laughing stock. Therefore, such ‘netas’ can only be classified as ‘padhe-likhe Jaahil’, i.e. literate/educated but ignorant folks. And the more one stays away from such folks, the better the conservation of one’s intellect, talking of which, here are some arewas where the ASI & the Indian Science Congress ought to focus their attention:

What was abhinandan wingman doing, mug 21 bison internal SPJ and other relevant questions.
My query to you is will we ever get to bottom of the exact event that happened on 27th Feb ? And any formal introspection by IAF over the entire issue could be expected in near future?
How can India buy THAAD now that it has already paid for the s400.and if India buys THAAD after delivery of s400 wouldn't having S400,THAAD and the drone BMD based on PDV be a logistical nightmare
Sir you didn't answered me? and sir OFB has issues in producing those 68mm rockets as per on of the CAG report ( which has been taken down ) They are facing the same issue as they had faced in case of 23mm & 30mm air defense gun rounds.
In thrust area of stealth technology, I hope drdo knows that they have to develop new type of radome ND it's extremely hard to develope. Also why it looks like that slides were prepared by 6th grade students instead of "scientist" and engineers.
1) Sir, then what happens, seems like a flip flop on CATSAA? Will it affect further purchases of sukhoi, mig29, il76 phalcons too?
2) The articles make it seem like s400 deal is not signed, will we or won't we escape CATSAA? What kind of exemptions are we looking at because vshorads, frigates etc are on going?
(A) Is the South Korean Biho 30 better than Pantisir? On what grounds have selected the Biho?
(B) You said Brahmos 2 is the zircon. And that its development is over. So by when would India get its hand on this? There is also talk that Russia is very reluctant to share this technology with India. What is the actual status and by when will India induct Brahmos 2.
(C) Which submarine are we going to build in P75i?
(d) Have we integrated ATGM in Rudras and LCH? When can we expect the first limited series LCH induction ?
(e) Lastly what is your take on US again offering THAAD & Patriot?
DRDO conducts successful flight test of ABHYAS drone. https://www.timesnownews.com/india/article/drdo-conducts-successful-flight-test-of-abhyas-drone/418202
Thank You Prasun Da for sharing those links. But even ancient aliens do not come close to our Prime Minister, who used a digital camera in 1988 to click a picture & even email it. Technologies that were unheard of in the 80s.
1. do you really feel that after the howlers by Mr. 'I Me Myself' like GST, Demonitization, self promotion over surgical strikes, he still deserves a 2nd term
2. you always said terrorism has a shel lke of 34 yrs, i that sense it have vanished from Afghanistan, but it seems Taliban has made itself indispensable to the countries future, a big victory for Pakistan in that sense
3. It seems Maduro is winning in Venezuela, but will Russia treat it same as Cuba of 1962
4. After THAAD the offer to not sell F21(new F16) to anyone by US is indeed lip smacking but what if US links it to Indo Russia ties, and the fact that Mig 21 Bison scored victory over F16, is it worth
5. It seems US intentionally wants to provoke Iran to a war, who are culturally habituated to dominate others, but i feel it will backfire on US, your take
To VSJ: 1) It won’t affect follow-on purchases or upgrades of Russia-origin military hardware already acquired in the past, but it will affect procurement of new-generation weapons like FGFA, S-400 etc etc. 2) Thje S-400 deal has been signed but its payments schedule is on the basis of tranches, i.e. the entire contract amount has not been paid.
To ASHISH: 1) The Pantsyr was developed as a close-in protection system for high-value military assets like LR-SAM sites. For protecting land-mobile fighting formations, options like the Biho are more realistic especially if the turret can be installed on a BMP-2 hull. 2) The BreahMos-2/Zircon will be inducted into service by the latter half of the next decade. 3) Most probably an advanced variant of the existing Scorpene SSK. 4) That work is still in progress. 5) It is an interesting offer.
To SRINIVASA NANDURI: The US-China treade spat is definitely causing the economic slowdown within India & it will be further impacted by the US sanctions against Iran. The only available option therefore is to attract all those US-registered OEMs that want to get out of China & set up shop in India & that means India will have to toe the US line on Iran. And this in turn could lead to some problems being created within India, especially those areas that are dominated by Shia Muslims, such as northern J & K, where the rumblings have already begun:
And this could well spiral on to Sunni-Shia clashes, especially if the regressive mindset prevails within the Kashmir Valley, as displayed by the male participants in this discussion:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YP2N52Gvpk&t=39s
And this in turn will spur nitwits within certain portions of India to create a violent counter-narrative, like the Hindu Yuwa Vahini:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOtF0fbvMYc
And finally, there’s the local administrative apathy within J & K, which causes severe hardships to the grassroots-level populace:
To SUJOY MAJUMDAR: There are 2 ways of analysying it: 1) Just laugh it off. 2) A deeper analysis that will reveal that a flawed mindset can lead to the adoption of a disastrous methodology of executing operational missions, as explained here by AVM Kapil Kak:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InQ7kDwB0OQ&t=2s
But what is far, far more sad is that the present-day PM did not pay attention to his Physics classes during his schoolgoing days, which in turn reflects badly on his parents, who had toiled hard to get their son a decent education but the son in turn betrayed their trust, or the parents were not paying attention to their son’s educational processes. That’s the saddest part.
To DASHU: LoLz! While you are happy, the Govt of Pakistan too is extremely happy since it now is of the view that the IMF loan package will pave the way for additional loan applications to the WB & ADB! In any case, all this will come to naught, especially if there is a US-Iran showdown, whose terrible aftershocks will be felt throughout Pakistan. Already, the Balochistan front is heating up like never before & here’s one report of how China’s secret service agencies hit back at a BLA sanctuary inside Afghanistan:
To JOYDEEP GHOSH: 1) He still is the only option since he will be a true servant of the US, Japan, RoK, Taiwan, the UK, etc etc. Because all the other options who brag about ‘strategic autonomy’ have been the ones that have keep India underdeveloped since the 1960s. 2) What is now going on inside Afghanistan or even in J & K isn’t home-grown terrorism, but naked aggression by external forces, i.e. it is no longer a proxy war since there are no indigenous proxies, but Pakistani citiens waging war against Afghanistan & India, which Afghan leaders clearly understand, but India’s ‘netas’ still don’t. 3) Russia cannot financially prop up Madura, & neither can China. Therefore, a coup in Venezuela is fast approaching. 4) Yes, this time India can no longer stay as a fence-sitter, the time has come to choose a side, just like Dr MMS chose the US when it came to securing the 123 Nuclear Agreement at the expense of Iran back in the previous decade. 5) How can it backfire when all the cards are stacked up against Iran? Will Russia buy Iranian oil & resell it to everyone else & supply the money back to Iran? Will the US allow this to happen?
Dr MMS chose the US when it came to securing the 123 Nuclear Agreement at the expense of Iran back in the previous decade. Please give full story of this statement
I follow your blog for long time like 10 year. Are you absolutely sure heavy cloud cover has no operational effect on all the military equipment and decision makers mind. Means absolute zero.
To HIMANSHU: Those are industrial QC-related issues due to the absence of stready orders from the MoD. It does not mean that those 68mm rockets are sub-optimal or in terms of design. Tjhose rockets are still in production & are routinely displayed at all expos where the OFB has an exhibitor booth.
Radiation, be it nuclear or electromagnetic, produces 3 kinds of rays—Alpha, Beta & Gamma. Their penetration qualities & after-effects are all explained in Physics textbooks prescribed for Standard-9/Grade-9 schoolgoing students throughout India. Bottomline: it is all about paying attention in the classroom. If there is only heavy cloud-cover without strong winds, then aircraft of all types can safely travel through them. But if strong winds prevail, this causes lightning strikes emanating from clashing heavy cloud formations & if a bolt of lightning strikes any aircraft, then this results in total electrical/electronic systems failure, inclusive of the FBW flight-control system & consequently the aircraft will go hurtling down & crash.
are you saying India should be pragmatic and takes sides, and be a mute spectator and be USA's yes man, when:-
1. Trump's son in law brings out a Palestine peace plan next month that might result in the Palestinian country cease to exist despite the fact that AFAIK it was India that was first to initiate a peaceful resolution effort way back in 1923
2. watch silently as US captures Libyan (through US stooge Khalifa Haftar), Venezuelan (support coup leader), Iranian oil fields (send military) oilfields
3. stand quiet as US China do shadow boxing via trade tariff war and as a price for US backing off Han China buys worlds silence on Tibet/Buddhist & Xinjiang/Uighurs in return for iron clad assurance not to touch Taiwan
and what does India get in all this, a big lobodonka or ghorar dim
And here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmDjUVcETGE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wba9jd1WCqM
The Pakistani Rupee will be devalued further to touch the Rs.250-to-the-US$1 mark. In addition, production costs in the industrial sector will shoot up, thereby leading to a further decline of exports from an already rapidly de-industrialising economy. In addition, rising inflation & cost of living will cause illiteracy to increase significantly. In other words, Pakistan will no longer possess thed human resources necessary to remain viable as a functional country.
As for MBTs, neither a light tank nor medium tank remains viable for as long as there are no roads to transport them to the frontlines in any type of terrain. What is there to share in terms of ToT for the F-21 Falcon-21? Will it teach India to develop something similar? Definitely not. Why? Because ToT NEVER involves product development, but only series-production of an already-developed product. For maintaining sustainable QC-levels, production orders need to be placed steadily, & not haphazardly.
To JOYDEEP GHOSH: Absolutely. Here’s a good discussion on India-Iran relations:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KneAgK4lgSY
1) It can’t be helped if the Palestinians are suicidal. 2) What can India do? Engage in strategic defiance? Inm what way? 3) China was, is & will be at the receiving end, rest assured. Only if India tries tgo be ultra-smart will she receive plentiful of big lobodonka or ghorar deem (horse’s egg). Why? BNecause India has already been exposed as a country engaging in double-speak. Take for instance how everyone talks about Afghanistan-India friendship but what India has reduced Sher Shah Suri’s Makbaraa (mausoleum) to:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPbcv5YgdSc
Then, further north in Gorakhpur, read how suicidal India’s own ruling-class natives are:
So by now you will realise why so many ‘Chowkidaars’ have sprung up in India over the past 2 months. They are now reqd to control the steadily increasing proliferation of stray cattle ‘manoeuvre’ groups that are jostling for space in most urbanised areas in BJP-ruled states! In fact, matters have come to sych a stage that yesterday in Kolkata the statue of Eashwar Chandra Vidyasagar was vandalised by supporters of the ‘Kamal’/Lotus.
But here’s more interesting stuff:
WhatsApp has exposed cellphones to Israeli spyware: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eto-eGOeIH8
300 PA MBTs Still Deployed in the Chicken’s Neck area:
Prasunji, India recently made a deal to buy 54 Harop suicide drones from Israel. Can you give an estimate of how much one harop costs? They have a range of 1000 km, are very hard to detect due to small size and very few metal components, and can autonomously detect and slam into targets through electro-optical sensors. In that case if it is cheaper than nirbhay, which also has a range of 1000 km but less stealthy, then why not develop and build thousands of such suicide drones instead of nirbhay?
I have gone through below link http://www.indiandefensenews.in/2019/05/modis-cloud-comment-and-radar-theory.html https://www.ametsoc.org/index.cfm/ams/policy/policy-memos/the-radio-frequency-spectrum-and-weather-water-and-climate-uses-and-challenges/ http://www.tpub.com/neets/book10/40j.htm
Radars however 'hitech' still use EM waves. And EM waves ARE attenuated by high moisture cloud conditions which reduces their effectiveness. Taught in junior school
Sir, But why Afghans get angry for Makbara of Sher Shah Suri? Yeah, ASI should protect all historical sites, but that site is Indian, not Afghan.
Even Sher Shah Suri was born in India, his grandfather, great great grandfather all were landlords in Dilli/ Delhi Sultanate.
Taking this analogy , whole Bush family was of German descent, but I dont think German American relations going to affect them about how they treat Bush. He is American.
If Afghans claim Sher Shah Suri was an Afghan, just because ethnicity was Afghan, then they need to read history.
What next, they cry when next movie of Sharukh Khan get negative critics? If they do, then we should simply say fuck off.
1) China gets the FATF top seat, Pakistan needs to meet minimum 17 of 40 conditions. Need 3 votes for a veto. IMF tied to FATF ruling, ADB and WB tied to IMF letter.
what's next? China, Turkey, Saudi saves them this time around? Apart from other vested interests in Pakistan's protection, they try to salvage what's left of the rotten economy lest they kiss goodbye to dreams of earning even 1 pkr back?
Seems like they will agree on extending grey listing repeatedly, and fight the black listing. FATF nods citing meeting 15-17 conditions are a good start?
2) What changes are taking place in Pakistans calculations post balakot? Better defense against our ops/future retaliation strategies/rebasing terrorists (maybe with urban civvies) etc now that nucular bum dhamki is gone?
3) Does INS vikrant really have 76mm naval guns too? Wiki says 4 of them, cant see them in any pics, what roles do they play on AC, if wiki is correct?
4) can we not make our L70 air defense guns, automatic 2 each slaved to a radar, like rhinemetal solution, Plus putting ak630 alongwith qrsam on single truck, i remember you posted a similar chinese solution, better yet start studying feasibility of relifing retiring BMP-1, throw in a L70 based turret, 2*2 manpads arm launcher on top and a small radar?
Those who broke Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar bust were Bengalis. No use just blaming BJP or TMC. It is Bengalis who are attacking their own intellectual heritage. No "bohiragoto" outsider came from some mythical place to do this.....that's the irony of bengal
Hope u r doing great sir. Thank u for the DRDO technology focus links. Awesome thread sir, DRDO vale kafi free ka uda rahe hai... Sir (1) do u see any possibility of war between USA n Iran in this year?? Though Iran can't stand in front of it but still if it blocks strait of Hormuz then any hostility possible?? (2) role of China n Russia & the Muslim brotherhood countries like Egypt, Jordan etc if it happens?? (3) using its proxies can USA create an internal explosion in Iran causing civil war condition within the country?? (4) rise of ISIS again in Afghanistan, Pakistan region is possible under Baghdadi?? (5) please give me link to Catobar design of HMS Elizabeth .... How will it generate so much power for EMALS being conventionally powered ship?? Using Super capacitors?? (6) IN had intention of having 1800 ton class (correct me if am wrong) small destroyers in large numbers armed with 8 Brahmos AShMs, 16+16 SAMs, CIWS etc what's happening on that project?? They could have been great force multipliers working alongside big ships like Kolkata class.... If they are under designing then will they be having integrated electrical propulsion??
Pappu has miserably failed in all the aspects and issues he raised and on all the fronts he fought. He says he will cancel the Rafale. What is in store for him?
To PRRANSHU YADAV: Comparing Harop with Nirbhay is akin to comparing a chisel-hammer with a sledgehammer. One has a 23kg warhead while the other has a 300kg warhead.
To SANGOS: Attentuation is not the same as outright blocking of waves—taught in kindergartens. Such atmospheric problems were faced by S-band radars until the arrival of L-band solutions.
To ARPIT KANODIA: LoLz! Who has ever said that the Afghans are angry? Rather, they tend to laugh when they see in India that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.
To VSJ: 1) Not quite, because the IMF has stated (as per the press release) that it needs the loans already taken from the Saudis & UAE & China to be rolled over, i.e. the period of indebtedness to be extended further so that Pakistan’s revenue earnings are all spent only on debt servicing, i.e. becoming a perpetually indebted country. 2) Not possible, given the dire financial conditions now prevailing. 3) I had detailed it all here way back in 2013:
To ASHISH GAUTAM: 1) No, because Iran has publicly stated that it does not want escalation & has in fact already stepped back. 2) Both these countries are heavily dependent on annual US economic aid for survival. 3) Not reqd, since economic strangulation is still the preferred method. Look at how the US & its allies engineered regime-change in Sudan, which used to be pro-Iran & has been responsible for helping Iran make covert weapons shipments by sea & land to both Yemen & the Gaza Strip. 4) Be it ISIS, Al Qaeda or anything else, such groupings or their clones will continue to rise in places like Pakistan since more & more literate/educated jobless youth are getting more attracted to such groupings. 5) No such CATOBAR design exists for QE-2 aircraft carrier. And hence it does not use EMALS either. 6) Still on the drawing boards.
Hi Prasun, Around 1998-99 i had read on web an article how US wanted to attack Iran, Pakistan and India. It was financially not possible at that time to get into meally with them one by one as power projection far from home has its own dis-advantages also taking into consideration the size and geographic diversity of India ot was never executed the article stopped there. However by progression of events unfolding the US is very near to achive its goal. This time the weapon is financial sanctions not mention isolation from old allies and not giving option to run anywhere. With the demise of parallel economy thanks to almighty Modi we don't have backup. What is your take on this would like a detailed response. Thanks for the articles you have been posting.
Hi Prasun, In your previous thread a year back you had mentioned that houthis would be routed with in months,so what’s taking the Saudi coalition such a long time to defeat them

Therefore, I’m afraid whether you like it or not, India will continue to be a country whose ‘netas/leaders’ will always insist that 2 + 2 always equals either 3 or 5, but never 4. Consequently India is beyond both hope & despair.
To BUDDHA: Here are those 70mm rockets & their launchers:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tkf7222ReWo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0FG7S3E070
BUT & BTW, the OFB has been producing 68mm rockets of this type since the 1960s for the IAF’s Mysteres & later the Jaguars & MiG-21s. So why can’t such 68mm rockets & their launchers be developed & produced for the Rudra/LCH/LUH? Is there no one among 130 crore Indian citizens who has the brains to think about this option?
And finally, my predictions about the THAAD seem to be coming true:

ReplyDeleteHow can India buy THAAD now that it has already paid for the s400.and if India buys THAAD after delivery of s400 wouldn't having S400,THAAD and the drone BMD based on PDV be a logistical nightmare
Sir you didn't answered me? and sir OFB has issues in producing those 68mm rockets as per on of the CAG report ( which has been taken down ) They are facing the same issue as they had faced in case of 23mm & 30mm air defense gun rounds.
ReplyDeleteIn thrust area of stealth technology, I hope drdo knows that they have to develop new type of radome ND it's extremely hard to develope.
ReplyDeleteAlso why it looks like that slides were prepared by 6th grade students instead of "scientist" and engineers.
1) Sir, then what happens, seems like a flip flop on CATSAA?
ReplyDeleteWill it affect further purchases of sukhoi, mig29, il76 phalcons too?
2) The articles make it seem like s400 deal is not signed, will we or won't we escape CATSAA? What kind of exemptions are we looking at because vshorads, frigates etc are on going?
Hi Prasun da,
ReplyDelete(A) Is the South Korean Biho 30 better than Pantisir? On what grounds have selected the Biho?
(B) You said Brahmos 2 is the zircon. And that its development is over. So by when would India get its hand on this? There is also talk that Russia is very reluctant to share this technology with India. What is the actual status and by when will India induct Brahmos 2.
(C) Which submarine are we going to build in P75i?
(d) Have we integrated ATGM in Rudras and LCH? When can we expect the first limited series LCH induction ?
(e) Lastly what is your take on US again offering THAAD & Patriot?

ReplyDelete1. do you really feel that after the howlers by Mr.
5. It seems US intentionally wants to provoke Iran to a war, who are culturally habituated to dominate others, but i feel it will backfire on US, your take
thanks
Joydeep Ghosh
To VSJ: 1) It won’t affect follow-on purchases or upgrades of Russia-origin military hardware already acquired in the past, but it will affect procurement of new-generation weapons like FGFA, S-400 etc etc. 2) Thje S-400 deal has been signed but its payments schedule is on the basis of tranches, i.e. the entire contract amount has not been paid.
ReplyDeleteTo ASHISH: 1) The Pantsyr was developed as a close-in protection system for high-value military assets like LR-SAM sites.
And this in turn could lead to some problems being created within India, especially those areas that are dominated by Shia Muslims, such as northern J & K, where the rumblings have already begun:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT65tL1uAn0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MzGrgAmGBs
And this could well spiral on to Sunni-Shia clashes, especially if the regressive mindset prevails within the Kashmir Valley, as displayed by the male participants in this discussion:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YP2N52Gvpk&t=39s
And this in turn will spur nitwits within certain portions of India to create a violent counter-narrative, like the Hindu Yuwa Vahini:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOtF0fbvMYc
And finally, there’s the local administrative apathy within J & K, which causes severe hardships to the grassroots-level populace:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxFfahsctwY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeHpsZ_hImY
To SUJOY MAJUMDAR: There are 2 ways of analysying it: 1) Just laugh it off. 2) A deeper analysis that will reveal that a flawed mindset can lead to the adoption of a disastrous methodology of executing operational missions, as explained here by AVM Kapil Kak:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InQ7kDwB0OQ&t=2s
Already, the Balochistan front is heating up like never before & here’s one report of how China’s secret service agencies hit back at a BLA sanctuary inside Afghanistan:
https://www.firstpost.com/world/gwadar-attack-growing-separatist-violence-in-balochistan-indicates-anger-among-locals-against-chinese-interference-in-pakistan-6621161.html

Prasun Sir,
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog for long time like 10 year. Are you absolutely sure heavy cloud cover has no operational effect on all the military equipment and decision makers mind. Means absolute zero.
Regards,
dineja
To HIMANSHU: Those are industrial QC-related issues due to the absence of stready orders from the MoD. It does not mean that those 68mm rockets are sub-optimal or in terms of design. Tjhose rockets are still in production & are routinely displayed at all expos where the OFB has an exhibitor booth.
ReplyDeleteTo DINEJA: Kindly read this:
https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/all-you-need-to-know-about-radars-and-how-they-function-even-with-cloud-cover/article27128390.ece?homepage=true
@prasun da
ReplyDeleteare you saying India should be pragmatic and takes sides, and be a mute spectator and be USA's yes man, when:-
3. stand quiet as US China do shadow boxing via trade tariff war and as a price for US backing off Han China buys worlds silence on Tibet/Buddhist & Xinjiang/Uighurs in return for iron clad assurance not to touch Taiwan
and what does India get in all this, a big lobodonka or ghorar dim
your take
thanks
Joydeep Ghosh
To JUST_CURIOUS: Not anymore. The devil is always within the detail, as revealed here:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.imf.org/en/News/Articles/2019/05/12/pr19157-IMF-Reaches-Staff-Level-Agreement-on-Economic-Policies-with-Pakistan-for-a-Three-Year-EFF
And here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmDjUVcETGE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wba9jd1WCqM
Then, further north in Gorakhpur, read how suicidal India’s own ruling-class natives are:
https://indianexpress.com/article/opinion/columns/uttar-pradesh-agriculture-cattle-industry-5725937/
https://theprint.in/politics/im-a-traditional-bjp-voting-industrialist-narendra-modi-made-me-vote-nota/230629/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaMAFGbPnTg
300 PA MBTs Still Deployed in the Chicken’s Neck area:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEYoNvktJLQ
Prasunji, India recently made a deal to buy 54 Harop suicide drones from Israel. Can you give an estimate of how much one harop costs? They have a range of 1000 km, are very hard to detect due to small size and very few metal components, and can autonomously detect and slam into targets through electro-optical sensors. In that case if it is cheaper than nirbhay, which also has a range of 1000 km but less stealthy, then why not develop and build thousands of such suicide drones instead of nirbhay?

ReplyDeleteSir,
ReplyDeleteBut why Afghans get angry for Makbara of Sher Shah Suri?
ReplyDeleteIMF tied to FATF ruling, ADB and WB tied to IMF letter.
what's next?
4) can we not make our L70 air defense guns, automatic 2 each slaved to a radar, like rhinemetal solution,
Plus putting ak630 alongwith qrsam on single truck, i remember you posted a similar chinese solution, better yet start studying feasibility of relifing retiring BMP-1, throw in a L70 based turret, 2*2 manpads arm launcher on top and a small radar?
Thanks.

ReplyDeleteTo PRRANSHU YADAV: Comparing Harop with Nirbhay is akin to comparing a chisel-hammer with a sledgehammer. One has a 23kg warhead while the other has a 300kg warhead.
ReplyDeleteTo SANGOS: Attentuation is not the same as outright blocking of waves—taught in kindergartens.
3) I had detailed it all here way back in 2013:
http://trishul-trident.blogspot.com/2013/08/sensor-fitments-of-iac-1ins-vikrant-ins.html
4) They can indeed be developed, but who has the vision to conceptualise such a solution?

Hi Prasun,
ReplyDeleteAround 1998-99 i had read on web an article how US wanted to attack Iran, Pakistan and India.
Hi Prasun,
ReplyDeleteIn your previous thread a year back you had mentioned that houthis would be routed with in months,so what’s taking the Saudi coalition such a long time to defeat them
