And here is the Indian stratagem- https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/after-9-month-freeze-centre-starts-clearing-china-fdi-plans/articleshow/81143248.cms
The Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU) has confirmed its interest in acquiring as many as 36 Boeing F-15EX H-MRCAs and 36 Dassault Rafale M-MRCAs as part of its force modernisation plan between 2021 and 2024. The TNI-AU is also seeking 15 Lockheed Martin C-130J Hercules transports, two unspecified multi-role tanker transports, 30 medium-power radars for air-defence, and unmanned aerial vehicles to equip three units. It is also looking at multi-role airborne early warning & control aircraft like the Saab GlobalEye. No Russia-origin military hardware is being considered for procurement due to fears of CAATSA sanctions.
Seems he's some valid points, what's your view on it. Since 1947 Indian Govt always on a defensive posture only in 1971 partially was on aggressive posture in the eastern sector. What stopping the present govt to take advantages of fault lines in enemy countries.
Thanks again & spot on again with your prediction about the VLSRSAM is for IN & is Barak-8 replacement but at longer ranges (Astra-I AAM derived) Hope the Kamortas & NGMVs / corvettes get these.

To SIDHARTH: Such videos only serve to promote visceral hatred against Pakistan & spread disinformation. For instance, such folks will never explain to their audience why on September 29, 2016 & February 26, 2019 the Govt of India classified the targets struck inside POJK & KPK as terrorist targets & also stated that there was no intention of causing any harm to the Pakistan Army. The reason is simple & elementary: India is committed to resolving all her outstanding differences with Pakistan peacefully as per the 1972 Simla Agreement & therefore India will never do anything to unilaterally violate the terms & clauses of the Simla Agreement. And that’s why whenever any cross-LoC operations were conducted in the past, they were never officially acknowledged by the Govt of India. Hence, it is the Simla Agreement that has prevented India from adopting an offensive policy WRT POJK. On the other hand, Pakistan, knowing that it had inked the Simla Agreement under duress, is always on the lookout for any & every opportunity to terminate the Simla Agreement by faulting India.
To RADHA/RAD: All these missiles (now including the VL SR-SAM) have TVC, as clearly seen in the rocket nozzles:
To KAUSTAV: Since the Barak-1s were procured between 2001 & 2007, their replacements are reqd early in the next decade. The VL SR-SAM will be the replacements. Hence, the IN will procure the VL SR-SAMs, while the IA will procure the QR-SAM & the IAF will in future procure the Akash-NG with both RF-seeker & IIR seeker & this will become its LL-QRM.
To ANWAY: No. Not possible. But universal launcher capable of launching both BrahMos-1 & Nirbhay is possible.
Hello Prasun, good to know you are also part of doubters of whatever the present dispensation does, regardless whether it works or not. I still remember as a kid graffiti on the walls of Bangalore portraying hammer and sickle with statement don't feed computers (with data cards) feed hungry mouths. No wonder India's most developed states in all respects Kerala and Waste Bengal follows this idealogy and still has intellectuals to promote it. Thanks, Ganesh
To SUMEET: The arsehole who is making such claims in February 2021 is not aware that on October 26, 2018 the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the Indian Air Force (IAF) watched from the sidelines as Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) signed two contracts with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). One was for 83 EL/M-2052 AESA-MMR and the other was for 83 EL/L-8222 ASPJ pods. So, the arsehole is claiming that sometime in 2024 HAL will unilaterally terminate the procurement contract for EL/M-2052 & will sign another contract with BEL for procuring the Uttam AESA-MMR! And I guess then it will be up to TOI & SWARAJAMAG to pay the liquidated damages (for contract violation) on behalf of HAL to IAI!!! The 1st Tejas Mk.1A will become available to the IAF 36 months after contract signature, i.e. in 2024. Based on an annual production rate of 16 per year, the 21st Tejas Mk.1A will become available only in 2026.
To WISE_ASS: Conspiracy theories apart, it was a clearcut case of misrepresentation & outright lying by Patanjali, i.e. it was claiming CORONIL to be a cure when in reality it is just an immunity-booster, i.e. totally unfair & unethical trade practice.
To GANESH: I’m extremely proud to be perpetual doubter (as opposed to being a rubbisher), as that has produced positive results beyond expectations. For instance, it has taken more than 30 position papers prepared by me (inclusive of operations analysis) to prove to the MoD, DRDO & the 3 armed services HQs since 2007 to prove beyond doubt that: 1) Developing a family of SAM systems is far better than opting for standalone solutions from different OEMs. 2) Numerically, the quantum of SHORADS SAMs is far more than the quantum of other SAM-types, like VSHORADS, MR-SAMs & LR-SAMs. And thus by 2012 it was finally decided by the MoD that the genesis will be the Astra-1 BVRAAM & from that would common-sensically flow the IA’s QR-SAM, LL-QRM (Astra-NG for the IAF), the VL SR-SAM for the IN, the Rudram-1 NG-ARM & ultimately the Astra-2 BVRAAM. If such elementary logic flows out from an ‘intellectual from West Bengal’, then you can well ascribe it to being a matter of coincidence, if it suits your whims & fancies. For me & my longstanding friends at DRDO, it will always be a matter of great satisfaction. My eternal regret, however, remains that I was unable to prevent money being wasted on the Barak-8 LR-SAM/MR-SAM projects.
To CHANAKYA CHATTERJEE: By late 2023 at best. It will be installed on all those existing warships now using the Barak-1, as well as on all new-generation warships now being built. It can also go on board the Russia-origin Project 1135.6 FFGs.
Of all the asinine conclusions that you have reached is the one about being a doubter. The Communist Sickle & Hammer Cadre isn't a doubter. He is a trusting fool & romantic who has forgotten the all-important VERIFY part. Anybody on Left or Right of whatever utopian impractical ideology that he subscribes to should remember that Blind Faith shows herd mentality & is an insult to the intelligence, nature has supposedly endowed us with. A person who doesn't doubt, who doesn't verify using his own faculties but accepts on Faith in an Individual or a Belief is but an immature child & liable to be cheated, defrauded & made a fool of till he decides to grow up & accept responsibility for himself. There are sufficiently defrauded individuals of scams, schemes, ideologies & religions to prove my point.
If you aren't a Communist, I expect you to have a healthy sense of Doubt supported by a robust Verification Mental faculty. It will save everyone a lot of sorrow & disillusionment....
Thank You for your efforts! A pleasure to see that an Indian Military Industrial Complex of sorts is finally taking shape in India thanks in part also to the robust application of common-sense & technology application that you use & encourage hopefully in others. It certainly seems that the technology base that has been developed is now being used for developing a family of missiles, weapon systems & sensors with practical end user applications as in Tactical missiles, UAVs, Transports & Fighting Vehicles. It's no doubt smaller than either that of US or PRC, maybe as yet saddled by bureaucracy & poor conceptual framework on account of deficient human resources but whoever said Genius is needed when working to a vision with what's available with a little innovation & ingenuity might do the job. The participation of the corporate industrial sector too is a relief as is the perceptible change in culture of DPSUs.
Contextually too, a small message for Mr.Ganesh who seems to be taking things on Faith, never a good sign for whatever ideology you follow :

Sorry Prasunda, had to clarify for I believe both from logic & experience that a driven follower whether a Left Cadre Comrade or a Right Bhagwa Bhakta have dumped the basic need of Scientific Thought on which Human civilization progresses - Enquiry.
With reference to Fighting Vehicles - namely the Arjun Mk1A again something which you had said would be the nomenclature long ago when everyone called it the Mk2.
My queries - 1. Can or will the Mk1 be upgraded to Mk1A or will it like the Tejas Mk1 have some but not all features as the LCA Tejas Mk1A during MidLife upg?
2. The inability to fire missiles from Tank Gun. Is the CLGM not yet ready? What issues does it face? Does the lack of missile firing capability make it sub-optimal just as the lack of Gun, MAWS & ASPJ on the Tejas Mk1? The Arjun Mk1A does seem to have an APS though with Laser Warning Receiver & smoke/gernade launchers to evade destroy incoming laser ranger or laser guided missiles. From article below👇
Hi prasun sir, What is happening in usaf, as some day ago they were talking for new 4.5 gen fighter aircraft ? Is it because of F-35 high maintenance & repair cost?
There is never a question about your capabilities and your accomplishments in your field regardless of which ever part of India you are from; even if you are from current Bangladesh, it does not matter. You commentary and understanding in the field of interest is impeccable, no comments on that, since I am not qualified to say anything. My comments were specific to the jeering commentary about GIFT city in Gujarat and about Pathanjali's claim on cure to Corona. The enthusiasm to portray others as fools and cheats is a problem. I respect you for your knowledge and your expertise; however, disdain forwarding others commentary as expertise in other fields. Hello Kaustav, I do not mind being called asinine, you are entitled to your opinion. I have first hand experience of resources' behavior in TCS Kolkata and their antics; similarly same is seen by employees in HAL Bangalore; the virus called Communism is a wonderful one that makes capable people become special kind. There is no love towards right left or center, what matters is India's progress (every state). The heuristics in terms of progress of a certain state adhering to a certain ideology is quite obvious. Doubt is fine; having prejudice is a problem. Nevertheless, not worth pursuing this conversation. Thanks, Ganesh
To KAUSTAV: VMT indeed! The deficiency was never in the arena of weapons design. The critical deficiency was in the arena of military-industrial capabilities & capacities, which is where product engineering & development takes place. Matters would have moved much faster over the past 30 years, but for the MTCR-related sanctions imposed on India since 1984 & the consequent sanctions that were in place between May 1998 & mid-2002. It was only by 2007 that the post-May 1998 sanctions were removed, while the MTCR-related sanctions were removed 3 years ago. Hence, the real growth in the military-industrial arena took off in the previous decade itself & that accounts for a growing lot of the private-sector OEMs being included in the still-growing military-industrial eco-system. WRT the Arjun Mk.1A, this is the video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ha_B4rgIEU
1) Just as the Leopard-2 MBT continues to evolve & improve while retaining the baseline hull, so too can all existing Arjun Mk.1 MBTs be upgraded to Mk.1A standard. 2) The CLGM’s user-evaluations began last year & will be concluded by early 2022. But from a manoeuvre warfare perspective, such anti-helicopter projectiles in my view are no longer required simply because the IA’s mechanised formations will always be accompanied by both RSH versions of the LUH as well as the Rudra gunships, both of which will come armed with Mistral ATAM air-to-air missiles & will always be flying ahead of the IA’s mechanised formations (like IBGs) for scout/recce target acquisition, locating anti-armour ambushes, and providing immediate air-support. Consequently, the need for carrying CLGMs by any IA-operated MBT no longer exists. Later tonight, I will try to upload all relevant data & slides on the Arjun Mk.1A, including the major improvements that have been carried out.
The doubt in my mind is primarily bcos many capital ships of the Navy incl the kolkatta and vizag class don't carry Barak 1 bcos it wasn't compatible with their fire control radars or were waiting for a better SRSAM.
So my question remains ... Will the 2 ACs, the 7 project 15 dddgs, the 10 project 17 ffgs and the kamorta be armed with the vl SRSAM?
And how many 8 cell SRSAM launchers do you see on these types
Correct me if im wrong , If you looks carefully , it seems PLA has deployed exoskeletons to assist their soldiers . seems their forward forces are much advanced in many domains while our poor souls struggle for a decent Kevlar Are we doing anything w.r.t future soldier projects ? Posters of F-Insas comes to my mind.
Can you also do an updated peice on global ucav development and esp China and Turkey and Israel bcos these affect us most and also analyse future trends like stealth ucavs etc
Mr.Prasun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kui_QKpluWw The lier Chinese again lied in its way he said that India released the picture of its 20 Soldiers after PLA released it's figures 3 days ago when we al know that the names and pictures of all of our 20 men were released in June last year.
To CHANAKYA CHATTERJEE: Not true, because the Barak-1 comes with its own target-acquisition sensors & fire-control system that is integrated with the on-board combat management system, as explained here:
And I had already earlier stated that all principal surface combatants due for service-induction will have PDMS in the form of VL-SR-SAM. No of VL cells vary from platform to platform, ranging from 8 till 16.
To JUST_CURIOUS: There are no hard-kill APS for any IA-operated MBTs today, although some from Israel & Sweden were once considered for both Arjun Mk.1 & T-90S early this decade.
To 3rd-EYE: Yes, such new-generation mobility aids are currently missing in India & no one in the DRDO seems to be talking about them. In fact, both tracked & wheeled ATVs are reqd as well. Then there is also the issue of constructing 10,000 dwellings, which was originally due for completion by 2029, but that now needs to be expedited. Here’s some info on such dwellings:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyClnBDCIQw&t=12s
To PARTHIB: All the Mumtaaz Mahals, Anarkalis, Jahan Aras etc etc are based abroad in places like the UK & Canada & hence can’t do much beyond scowling & howling from afar.
To RAJ GUPTA: Why should that be so surprising? The nature of the governance model in China is such that anyone speaking the truth is immediately arrested on charges of spreading disinformation & disturbing public harmony & stability. And that’s because in a one-party state, only the party’s version of events counts because the party always states that only it is blessed with all-knowing wisdom & such wisdom can never be questioned or faulted.
To MOHAN: I had already explained earlier that the manned aerial threats cruising at medium & high altitudes are almost non-existent, while the principal threats are now from either low-flying manned combat aircraft or standoff powered/gliding PGMs or low-flying cruise missiles. Consequently, quick-reaction SHORADS & E-SHORADS are the most effective solutions. In addition, procurement of 2 types of LR-SAMs (Barak-8ER & S-400) makes no sense.
>>in terms of stealth, where you've mentioned rivetless airframe, are we capable of developing such? what kind of manufacturing technology is used in this regard by the usa?
>>where is UAE's edge group getting the tech to come up with their products?
hiprasun what is this cats missile that is going to eject a warheade and then come back? no one else in the world thought of that. ??
what happens to the cg center of lift and all other aerodynamic forces that will come into play when such and load is ejected from a vehicle ?. and then come back??
are we up to it to make a missile that can intecept a brahmos type ASCM given that we are new bees to missile making ? did we learn any thing from the barak 8 MR sam?
It needs to be powered by turbofans, and not PTAE-7 turbojets as per HAL’s daydreaming. GTRE a few years ago had claimed that it was developing the LAGHU SHAKTI turbofan, but now GTRE is keeping silent about it & is instead talking only about the MANIK STFE for Nirbhay-type cruise missiles.
Merely called the comment asinine as I have a visceral hatred of communism which sacrifices the individual & his rights for the greater good but finally ends up hurting society & common people because of this very arrogant principle & denigrating the individual.

Prasunda
The doubt in my mind is primarily bcos many capital ships of the Navy incl the kolkatta and vizag class don't carry Barak 1 bcos it wasn't compatible with their fire control radars or were waiting for a better SRSAM.
So my question remains ... Will the 2 ACs, the 7 project 15 dddgs, the 10 project 17 ffgs and the kamorta be armed with the vl SRSAM?
And how many 8 cell SRSAM launchers do you see on these types
prasun,
what kind of active protection system does arjun mk1 a carry .. it does not seem to have a hardkill option
Hi Prasun ,
In your previous blog comments you had provided this picture refernce for PLAGF Garrison at HELMET TOP celebrating the Lunar New Year
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EuEinxnVgAEHdmp?format=jpg&name=large
Correct me if im wrong , If you looks carefully , it seems PLA has deployed exoskeletons to assist their soldiers . seems their forward forces are much advanced in many domains while our poor souls struggle for a decent Kevlar
Are we doing anything w.r.t future soldier projects ? Posters of F-Insas comes to my mind.
Hi prasun
Your thoughts on this analysis

Can you also do an updated peice on global ucav development and esp China and Turkey and Israel bcos these affect us most and also analyse future trends like stealth ucavs etc

The lier Chinese again lied in its way
he said that India released the picture of its 20 Soldiers after PLA released it's figures 3 days ago when we al know that the names and pictures of all of our 20 men were released in June last year.

To CHANAKYA CHATTERJEE: Not true, because the Barak-1 comes with its own target-acquisition sensors & fire-control system that is integrated with the on-board combat management system, as explained here:
http://trishulgroup.blogspot.com/2008/10/indian-navys-ciws-saga.html
In addition, procurement of 2 types of LR-SAMs (Barak-8ER & S-400) makes no sense.

what is this cats missile that is going to eject a warheade and then come back? no one else in the world thought of that. ??
what happens to the cg center of lift and all other aerodynamic forces that will come into play when such and load is ejected from a vehicle ?. and then come back??
are we up to it to make a missile that can intecept a brahmos type ASCM given that we are new bees to missile making ?
did we learn any thing from the barak 8 MR sam?
To BHOUTIK: This is where we are WRT directed-energy weapons:
https://www.orfonline.org/research/what-are-indias-plans-for-directed-energy-weapons/
If Japan, South Korea & China can’t develop rivetless machined airframe structures, how could India?
To RAD: This is what it is all about:

It needs to be powered by turbofans, and not PTAE-7 turbojets as per HAL’s daydreaming. GTRE a few years ago had claimed that it was developing the LAGHU SHAKTI turbofan, but now GTRE is keeping silent about it & is instead talking only about the MANIK STFE for Nirbhay-type cruise missiles.
Dear Mr. Ganesh
Merely called the comment asinine as I have a visceral hatred of communism which sacrifices the individual & his rights for the greater good but finally ends up hurting society & common people because of this very arrogant principle & denigrating the individual.
