Pakistani Falsehoods Finally Exposed By Native Pakistanis

To uphold one lie, several more lies have to be uttered. This is what best sums up all that has been emanating from Pakistan over the past 48 hours. The original lie unleashed by Pakistan was on February 27, 2019—this being the failed air-strike mounted earlier that day by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) against Indian military installations located in southern Jammu & Kashmir. To recollect, it was at 9:42am that the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) Integrated Air Command and Control Station (IACCS) at Bhatinda warned of an increase in PAF air activity over central and western Pakistan. The PAF had launched clusters of combat aircraft from Kamra, Murid, Chander, Sargodha, Rafiqui and Jacobabad. While some of them were seen cruising at medium altitude and had initially switched on their identification friend-or-foe transponders initially (as a decoy—they were showing themselves to the IAF’s IACCS to make it seem like routine activity), the others tried to hide at low-altitude. Soon, the PAF combat aircraft clusters regrouped into strike-packages and turned east for the attack. The first enemy strike-package turned east over the Chicken’s Neck area at 9:58am on the Akhnoor axis, and approached the LoC at 10:06am. Another package approached further north along the Poonch axis, staggered by five to seven minutes. A third package was opposite Anupgarh in northern Punjab state of India. Each package had eight to ten aircraft, supported by multiple combat air patrols, Saab 2000 AEW & CS platforms and Dassault Falcon-20s for electronic jamming support. On the Indian side there were two upgraded Mirage-2000Ns on combat air patrol (CAP) east of Udhampur, and two Su-30MKIs near Srinagar. In addition, two MiG-21 Bisons were scrambled in two lots (10:01am and 10:03am) from Srinagar, two more Bisons from Awantipur, two upgraded MiG-29UPGs from Adampur and two Su-30MKIs each from Halwara, Bathinda and Jodhpur—totalling 18 platforms. The PAF ensured that its combat aircraft did not cross either the IB or the LoC. Two MiG-21 Bisons, flown by Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman and Squadron Leader Vyas, were scrambled from Srinagar at 10:03am for intercepting the PAF strike-package on the Poonch axis. On reaching the sector, Abhinandan spotted enemy aircraft flying at low-level, and the IACCS Station informed him that all aircraft to his west were hostile. He went for the target-in-contact on close combat mode with Vympel R-73E short-range air-to-air missiles. The IACCS Station had subsequently asked that IAF formation to turn back because of the threat developing on them. Vyas heard the call and turned around. PAF electronic jamming prevented Abhinandan from getting the call. In the melee, it is presumed that his MiG-21 Bison shot down a PAF F-16D, while breaking off from the attack. The PAF dropped 11 weapons—two each at Kishan Ghati Top (Nangi Tekri), Bhimber Gali (Hamirpur), Kesbowl and Tackundi Bowl, and one each at the 251 Ammunition Point in Rajouri and the FSD at Narian, and one at Bharat Gala—but could not cause any damage. The debris indicated the use of DENEL-supplied H-4 TV-guided gliding PGMs (range 120km) and China-supplied range extension kits or REK (60km) fitted to Mk.83 bombs.

Why did such weapons not cause any material damage? There are two reasons. First, the PAF’s two strike-packages were forced to turn back by the IAF’s interception packages before the former could complete the weapons targetting procedures. Second, the PAF’s strike-packages were not allowed effective follow-through, i.e. the time taken for ensuring uninterrupted man-in-the-loop targeting was denied, and in turn prevented the PAF from obtaining the real-time video imagery required for conclusively proving to the world that it had indeed achieved what it had set out to do. Five AIM-120C-5 AMRAAM beyond-visual-range air-to-air missiles were fired by the PAF’s F-16s. But why were such BVRAAMs ineffective? One theory is that PAF wanted to draw the IAF’s interceptor packages into a planned kill box without crossing the LoC and use the AMRAAMs to score aerial kills. Since this ploy did not succeed, the PAF launched the AIM-120C-5s at longer ranges. The IAF thus simply defeated the PAF’s AMRAAMs with superior manoeuvring and EW tactics.

Therefore, by afternoon on February 27, the IAF and PAF had two all-new taskings. For the IAF, it was all about securing the immediate and unconditional release of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, while for the PAF it was all about trying to convince Pakistan’s domestic audience that its conventional deterrent posture had indeed produced the desired results. The Govt of India used the back-channels established by the Prime Minister’s Office with POTUS Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and with the ruling royal family of the United Arab Emirates to convey to Pakistan its 1-point demand about Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman’s immediate and unconditional release (a fully justified demand since Abhinandan’s MiG-21 Bison was shot down while conducting a purely defensive air operation, and his flight was neither intended nor armed for causing any material damage to life or property on the ground and hence did not qualify as an aggression-driven mission). India also conveyed that any attempt by Pakistan to either refuse to or delay the release of Abhinandan within 48 hours will result in the IAF conducting pulverising air-strikes lasting up to a week against all eight Brigades of the 60,000-strong, PoK-based Mujahid Force that comes under the command of the Pakistan Army’s (PA) Rawalpindi HQed X Corps. The Mujahid Force exists as irregular combatants and owes allegiance to the ‘Azad Kashmir Regiment’, which has 32 Infantry Battalions distributed among 8 Brigades. The 1 AK Brigade is located in Muzaffarabad, the 2 AK Brigade in Rawalakot, the 3 AK Brigade in Kotli (has an area of responsibility located opposite to the Rajouri, Poonch, Naushera and Sunderbani sectors), the 4 AK Brigade in Bandli, the 5 AK Brigade in Dhani, the 6 AK Brigade in Bagh, the 7 AK Brigade in Bhimber, and the 32 AK Brigade in Kel. The Mujahid Force comprises the 640, 641, 647, 652, 654, 655, 815, 834, 841, and 886 Battalions of the PA. The 656 Battalion is the Mujahid Force Training Centre at Bhimber.

For Pakistan, the Indian demand and threat posed a double whammy: how could the PAF justify its claim of having restored credible conventional deterrence vis-à-vis the IAF on February 27 if just a short while later it was seen unable to prevent the IAF from decimating the eight AK Brigades that were forward-deployed in PoK along the LoC, especially at a time when the PAF’s POL stockpiles were way below its 20-day general service aviation fuel reserves and consequently, at best, the PAF would have ceased to be an effective fighting force after the first four days of intensive flying under war-like conditions? Only later did become known that it was this very reason that caused Pakistan to extend the ban on its airspace for all India-origin commercial flights till June 28, 2020—this being the only way of minimising the quantum of CAP sorties required to be flown by the PAF along the IB, WB and LoC.

Thus, by the night of February 27, the stage was set for Pakistan to commence drafting a series of indefensible falsehoods in a vain attempt to domestically acquire moral ascendancy. The first falsehood, the brainchild of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate, was selectively released on February 28 to a few Pakistani journalists (who are on the ISPR’s regular payrolls) who via their respective VBlogs claimed that India, with Israel’s help, was all set to fire 12 missiles of an unspecified type from Rajasthan against five sites inside Pakistan. The second consequent falsehood, also the ISPR’s brainchild, was next propagated first by Pakistan’s PM Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi himself during a press-conference with local journalists on the same day, during which he also went on to claim that Pakistan had achieved success in thwarting such Indian missile-strikes, but did not go into specifics. It was only in the afternoon of March 1 that the Pakistani PM revealed on the floor of Pakistan’s National Assembly that Abhinandan would be released unconditionally later that same day as a unilateral gesture of goodwill. Three days later, on March 4, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi made the final sensational claim: it was Pakistan’s magnanimity that had resulted in Abhinandan’s swift and unconditional release and that it was this gesture that was responsible for thwarting India’s planned missile-strikes.

In addition, a series of elaborately-staged actions followed throughout March 2019 to try to reinforce the earlier falsehoods about India’s planned missile-strikes and to justify the continued denial of transit overflights by India-origin airliners through Pakistani airspace. For instance, on March 4, 2019 at around 11am a PAF-operated Falco UAS, which had taken off from Bahawalpur Airport, entered Indian airspace near the BSF’s Soorma and K K Tibba outposts at Anupgarh in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar district. The UAS was intercepted and shot down with 30mm cannon-fire by a Su-30MKI belonging to Jodhpur-based 31 ‘Lions’ Sqn with Su-30MKIs. Debris of this UAS fell just inside Pakistan. Five days later, Indian Army (IA) troops shot down a locally-made Pakistani drone in Sri Ganganagar sector (Rajasthan) as it entered Indian airspace 7.30pm. Earlier in the day, a similar drone tried to enter Indian territory at 5am at Hindumalkot border near Sri Ganganagar, but the drone had to take u-turn as it was sighted by IA troops who started firing. Another such drone was destroyed after it came across in Sri Ganganagar on March 24 evening. The drone was near the Satrana and Jagdev border outposts in the area when it was detected by radars, which led to anti-aircraft guns opening up to prevent its ingress further into Indian territory.

And yet, 20 months later, in Pakistan the debate still rages on about the swift and unconditional release of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman; while the PAF till this day has not been able to produce any video or HUD camera imagery of its air-strikes on Indian targets on the morning of February 27, 2019; nor has any native of Jammu & Kashmir UT been able to capture any video footage of the Su-30MKI that the PAF claims to have downed on that same day—this being the most embarrassing reality, especially if one were to believe Islamabad’s repeated claims about every Muslim native of J & K UT preferring Pakistan’s two-nation theory and rejecting secular India.

There is no debate in India about what happened.
It is only 2 TV channels that are spreading the lies.
The editors of these channels need to put behind bars & keys thrown away.

A complete expose. But, IMO all these are nothing but well-orchestrated chaos by PA to not to draw anyone's attention towards its goal of annexing GB through the upcoming election with active chini help and guide. India will not be able to do anything in the current situation.

Why didn't the GOI choose Bell Super Cobra, a dozen of them, to augment expeditionary force like the SFF? Plus given the Mi helicopters MRO already available, would it not have been more feasible to buy Mi 28N latest versions? Maintenance wise they need more man hours, but at least would have had common platform with other Mi. I think the whole problem comes down to one factor: lack of vision. No one really knows what they are supposed to be aiming it hence all this scattergun approach. Obsolescence has arrived all at once because throughout India's independent history no one bothered to foresee future needs and replace old stuff with newer stuff in smaller tranches. Now everywhere you look there is a need for modern equipment and no country in the world can replace everything at once especially when there is no homegrown industrial strength. Very sad indeed.

To ANUP: How can I figure out what’s on someone else’s mind? You will have to ask them yourself. I can only explain why I find some matters of the IA very disconcerting, like this:

https://twitter.com/adgpi/status/1320974293371555841

When every officer & soldier during his/her commissioning into the armed forces takes the oath of service in which he/she pledges to honour & uphold & safeguard India’s Constitution, I’m sure they all know that this includes refraining from corrupt practices, since the Constitution does not authorise anyone to engage in any corrupt practices. Why then should the IA HQ insist on its officers taking yet another so-called Integrity Oath? This defies sound common-sense & instead it further serves to reinforce the notion that India is A NATION OF IDIOTS.

To VENKY: To me, the past & present-day Editors of this channel must now be put behind bars for misleading the country almost a decade ago & reducing India to the world’s laughing stock through such ‘investigative’ programmes:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JFXPF97xHw

Because, here’s the final verdict:

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/devas-wins-9-year-old-legal-battle-against-antrix-as-us-court-awards-it-1-2-billion-compensation/articleshow/78951639.cms

So, it is now high time that both TIMES NOW’s then (now with REPUBLIC WORLD) & present-day Editors be held accountable & liable for damaging ISRO’s reputation & also for causing financial damage to ISRO.

To AMIT BISWAS: How can there be any equivalence between the opposing claims of India & Pakistan? The data above proves only the claims of Pakistan as being false & says nothing about India’s claims being false.

1- what's with the Indian side still dithering naming china . Also is there still some mistrust within Indian policy makers regarding american weapons & partnering them as there are reports about India not committing to buy the predator drones while the US is pushing for it during the recent 2+2

2- the rallies of pakistani opposition have died down has the army succssfully quelled it?

Hi Prasun

I was just reading about the russian special projects which includes their new harmony sonar system and the their latest sub belgorod which are involved in special missions ( which is cool to know that they took a old unfinished oscar ssgn and converted it into a sub that can dock with a mini sub the losharik or sarov also i guess since losharik is under repair, also carries a uuv and and can carry Poseidon autonomous torpedo, truly resourceful people).

1. I know that we have joined in sosus along with japan and usa for monitoring PLAN subs and if i am not wrong you wrote an article about in the force. Is this system fully operational?
Are their any similar system for monitoring Pak Subs? If not can we develop one for the indian navy based on the sosus? Wouldn't it be a force multiplier for us since the pak undersea arm is growing the 039 chinese subs?

Thanks again for previous replies.

To JUST_CURIOUS: 1) Why should India procure armed MALE-UAS when such platforms will never be used by India over uncontested airspace? Even the PA & PAF won’t use such drones against India but in areas like erstwhile FATA & Balochistan, i.e. within Pakistan’s own airspace where there will no hostile air-defence artillery. All speculation about India requiring armed MALE-UAS has been spread over the past 4 years by this trio of ‘desi bandalbaazes’:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueSdx9gJAgI&t=18s

2) It is an ongoing process & was never a one-off event.

To HARSH & SBM: As that report says, the imports are in the categories of light weapons, projectiles & ammo rounds, meaning Kord 12.7mm HMGs for ther IA & IN, AGS-30 AGLs for the IA, barrels for the 2S6 Tunguska & ZU-23-2 & ZSU-23-4 AAA, 125mm FSAPDS rounds, 80mm air-to-surface rockets, 122mm GRAD & 300mm Smerch-M MBRL rockets, and 12.7mm, 23mm & 30mm ammo rounds. Even 40mm hand-held AGL rounds are being imported from South Africa’s MILKOOR.

To REMO: The US-Japan SOSUS network has been operational in the southern IOR since 2005. It has since been extended into the Gulf of Oman to cover the northern Arabian Sea.

Dear prasun

That means that indian navy will now about pakistani submarine movement and they can counter it?

I wanted to ask you one more thing, how bad is the arjun tank compared to its conterparts? And how good is the new version to its counterparts? I know you will say that it is based on requirement ( low total weight, engune capacity, the gun etc) but still a fair view on it and its latest variant?
I have read your previous replies on the weight ( which will be reduced) and on its upgradement. But i feel it is will not meet our needs due to deaign failures?. I could be wrong, please correct if i might may.
Another query, why arent we trying develop a new battle tank if we the arjun doesnt meet our needs. We ordered more T90s? We could have used our exprience in the arjun, t90 and t72 to develop something that could meet our needs?
Thanks again for your reply

To AMIT BISWAS: All existing lead-acid batteries now being used by submarines regardless of submarine-type will switch over to Lithium-Ion batteries, just as in the previous decade all lead-acid batteries on all aircraft types were succeeded by Nickel-Cadmium batteries.

To JUST_CURIOUS: 1) No joint-development project with any established weapons producing country will produce any result, be it with the US or UK or France or even Russia. Only the Barak-8 SAM venture has been successful to date. 2) It is just a provisional or temporary change in status. 3) It is just a formal visit as per long-established custom. 4) Inconsequential cries that will die down as fast as they had arisen.

To ASD: The process of tackling both adversaries should have begun way back in 1999 when the opportunity had presented itself. But those in power in India at that time squandered away this opportunity.

To REMO: The Arjun Mk.1A built with HNS will be a truly versatile & formidable MBT. The MBT never had any design deficiencies. Only manufacturing quality deficiencies had existed, all of which have since been rectified.

Hi Prasun

Thanks for your reply.

The thing is why is said that the Arjun tank had design issues is because as I have been reading online, the Arjun is a mess because of its gun( which all of them say that we showed have gone for smoothbore than rifled since it supports more different ammunitions without hindrance because nowadays AFPFSDS is the proper tank killer with their penetration at 700m to 900mm at 2 km but ours can do only 300mm at 2km). ,engine and protection

1. My first question is it because of our AFPFSDS round quality or due to the gun we used? Is that we prefer HESH rounds better due to our requirement.?
2. Rifled guns are more accurate than smoothbore. What is the point if we can't get penetration for it ? The smoothbore is accurate enough to hit a tank which I feel it is good enough. they can fire the fin stabilized armor piercing round and last long. The secondary round Heat rounds are better suited for smoothbore( the rifled can fire them with modifications and cost implications). This why all of them have moved to smoothbore except us and the British challenger. Why haven't we done it? Aren't we looking at Arjun to be a proper tank killer ?

Please correct me if I am wrong but I just want an unbiased and realistic view on it.Please guide me to something that would make sense.

is it good to get the russian system that has a range of 300km to blind the awacs of pak? and also use it for jamming every thing airborne including chinese gps? i am given to undestand that the PAF falcon 21 ew jammed the comm between abhinandan and the controller?

On topic Normally I would take such news with a pinch of salt however with the changing dynamics and new blocs and alliances getting stronger, It might not be surprising if that were the case indeed after all Turkey being an ally and brotherly country. Make no mistake any threat to Turkey's stability or its integrity, Pakistan will come to its support rest assured.

To RAM: Everything went off like clockwork. You need to check how many days the month of February had back in 2019.

To DASHU: Entrenched bureaucratic structures take a long time to be dismantled. This was precisely the case back in 1962, all of which has been explained in great detail by the then DGMO Maj gen D K Palit in his book WAR IN THE HIGH HIMALAYAS.

To REMO: Most of the criticisms are totally outlandish & unwarranted. For instance, the MBT vs MBT engagements in the subcontinent have all been within a distance of only 700 metres due to physical visibility restrictions. Hence, it makes no sense to have cannons or target sighting systems that have a range of more than 1km.

To AMIT BISWAS: They all can be jammed en masse & be rendered ineffective.

To HOODS007: 1) They are alreasdy being prodfuced for the ITBP. 2) Of course. 3) I had already explained several times before that Air-Defence Command cannot be just another office. It needs to be located inside a hardened structure, like inside a mountain. Presently, no one is digging or drilling for making such a survivable structure & without it no unified air-defence command HQ can exist.

To RAD: Ground-based EW jammers can always take care of massed attacks by expendable UAS. But one also requires laser effectors for swift destruction. The best option against airborne AEW & CS platforms is the hypersonic SAM that can either be a hittile (as is the case with the S-400), or can carry an EMP-generating warhead.

To PRATIK: Such developments won’t have any negative impact on India. If Turkey’s economy takes a hit as it did several timers before, then it won’t even have the finances to buy fuel for its air force.

To SRINU: It was not my wish, but that of all the law enforcement agencies of India both at the State & central levels. That areshole was denigrading the law enforcement agencies despite the case being sub judice. Such regressive actions send to seriously undermine the faith the country’s citizens have in the law enforcement machinery of the land & this in turn constitutes a serious violation of the social contract. Hence, there was across-the-board consensus among all political parties of the country that this areshole had to be silenced because he had been under the impression that he had become a power on to himself & was untouchable by the law. In other words, he & his TV channel was engaging in subversion on a 24/7 basis. Hence, the 11th Commandment had to be applied, i.e. those who live by the TV, shall die by the TV as well.

Now there will be a flurry of visits by Pakistani diplomats to US as also their UN rep Munir Akram & head of K-caucus Ghulam Nabi Fei to get jehadi Ilhan Omar & Rashida Talib to coax VP Kamala Harris to urge new POTUS Biden to mediate on K-issue. They may even use anti-Hindu missionary converts Premila Jayapal & Arundhatri Roy to poison POTUS mind against Modi (like India's ex-VP's wife poisoning Mrs Michele Obama's mind during their official visit here).

To ARPIT KANODIA: The only question that matters & whose answer will reso9lve all inconsistencies is this: why does India continue to be ruled & not be governed?

To AMIT BISWAS: Such hardware is reqd only where frontline fighting formations are deployed & the Samyukta EW system has evolved steadily since its inception & today the Mk.3 variant is in service.

To VIKRAM GUHA: LoLz! And yet while daring to dream, no one dare dream about developing any piece of fighting or habitability kit meant for use in sub-zero temperatures or high-altitude plateau warfare! That’s why such reqmts don’t even figure in such lists!!! Truly part of a Nation of Idiots, don’t you think?

To VED: Such rumours wer4e spread by the ‘desi’ TV channels & their resident ‘bandalbaazes’.

To VISHAL: 1) Refer to past threads dealing with this ATGM. 2) What aggression has China committed this time? Has it forcibly snatched any territory from India’s control? If not, then where exactly is the aggression that was last displayed in 1962? 3) Back in 2016 in Russia. 4) All the data on such sensors is available on threads dealing with every successive AERO INDIA & DEFEXPO expos.

To JUST_CURIOUS: 1) No, but LEONARDO Group will, since its Black Shark HWTs are desperately sought. 2) It is regarding Cyprus & India has responded positively. 3) The US does not follow, unlike India, a personalised type of foreign policy. The US is always guided by its supreme national interests that enjoy bipartisan support, again unlike India. 4) Putting all eggs into a single basket like that of Bharat Dynamics Ltd will only cause long series-production delays of various types of guided-missile systems. 5) He was hinting at events to follow next year after the snows start melting.

To PRATIK: Such unwarranted & outdated fears can only emerge from those wearing ideological blinkers & most of the political elite in India do have such blinkers on at all times. In the US, the convergence of that country’s national security interests remains high, paramount & indivisible & hence enjoys bipartisan support—again unlike India where the ruling elite don’t even know what India’s supreme national interests ought to be. For example, while sound common-sense dictates that until the operationalisation of the East-West & North-South freight corridors of India there will be no industrialisation of India’s landlocked states like Bihar & UP, every political party is promising to usher in the impossible in these 2 states & almost everyone seems to be sucking up to such untruths as well. The principal problem there fore is that the bulk of India’s ruling political elite is made up of intellectually-challenged & retarded folks who are well-versed in the A to Z of brain-dead politicking, but who do not know the A, B, C & D of nation-building.

Sir, is the following report true, that the GSLV-F10 launch was aborted due to US pressure?
https://www.asiavillenews.com/article/asiaville-investigates-why-is-there-such-a-mystery-surrounding-the-postponement-of-the-gisat-1-launch-37910
If indeed the case, then what could be the reason - the article mentions it would have affected US business and strategic interests.

Thanks,
Anjan

Prasun K. Sengupta said...

To ANJAN: LoLz! Only someone with total disrespect for the physical sciences will come up with such a delusional narrative. And here's why:

1) All the MILSPEC overhead recce satellites (carrying either optronic or SAR sensors) of the world are low-Earth orbiting satellites, i.e. at a height ranging from 150km till 650km. Satellites orbiting at sun-synchronous/polar-Earth or geo-stationary orbits cannot offer the kind of resolutions reqd for military recce/strategic targetting purposes.

2) The only MILSPEC satellites located at geo-stationary orbits are either communications or ballistic missile early warning satellites. Consequently, the GISAT-1 belongs to the latter category, i.e. it is the first of a constellation of four such satellites that the Govt of India has planned for strategic early warning.

3) Coming now to why GISAT-1's launch was aborted, it was because at that time a decision was taken to ink the BECA agreement in the near future & this consequently would have resulted in the regional surveillance envelope of India's GISAT family of satellites being synchronised with the global surveillance envelope of the US-owned DSP family of satellites of this type. But to achieve this, a separate US-supplied signals receiver & repeater interface kit was reqd for installation on the GISAT family of satellites. And this kit has since been acquired from the US by ISRO after the BECA foundational agreement was inked.

In fact, I had stated on the eve of BECA's signing that this would enable India to be part of a global ballistic missile early warning network. Hence, let us not make a mockery of ourselves by sucking up to ridiculous conspiracy theories. As it is, enough damage has been done earlier today by Indian officialdom by totally ignoring this event:

To AJAY: How can such proposals ever be taken up when they are 100% MORONIC & IDIOTIC? Do those illustrations show any electro-hydraulic mechanism for positioning the missile-launchers in either azimuth or elevation? Or haven't you grasped the fact that the country has been & is overpopulated with IDIOTS? Maybe that's why folks are now happy that Trump has lost the elections so that the previous H-1B visa quota can now be restored for more Indians to take a one-way journey to the US. And here's another example that reinforces my point about India being overpopulated with IDIOTS:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXDDxc8G340

While countries like Japan, the US, France & even China can refurbish & export 20-year-old warships, it is only in India that decommissioned warships are used as targets for ASCM firings. Couldn't any of the India-built Leander-class or Godavari-class FFGs been refurbished, upgraded & exported to friendly countries? Instead, we have some brain-dead former Admirals & present-day MPs who are over-zealous to keep imported vessels like VIKRANT & VIRAAT as floating museums, but have no urge to convert a Made-in-India warship into a museum & are quite happy to see them being blown up by BrahMos-1! Truly a bunch of Grade-A/First-class RETARDS we have reared up in this country!!!

Hello sirji!
After a long time, so much to ask but will try to keep as small as possible...

1.Like you, I repeatedly keep explaining my friends that Biden won't bring any drastic change in his approach towards India compared to Trump. But one thing which quite keeps buzzing me is, what if folks like Ilhan Omar or that ex-bartender-turned congresswoman(No offense) acquires some high post in future and tries to openly pressurize GOI to undo laws like 370 move, CAA, etc.? Do you see that happening?

2.By the way, this is very serious thought by that later mentioned congress-woman:
https://twitter.com/AOC/status/1324807776510595078?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1324826709422673921%7Ctwgr%5Eshare_3&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.republicworld.com%2Fworld-news%2Fus-news%2Faoc-suggests-supporters-make-list-of-posts-from-trump-sycophants-faces-backlash.html
She or likes of her seems to have plans to witch-hunt every RW supporter in person. I haven't seen this level of wokeness in my entire life. While the administration would always be neutral, but folks like her in power could really do some crazy things.

3.Sir which technologies do you consider as the technologies for the future design and manufacturing?(Like AR,AI,Machine Learning, etc)

BTW,I recently attended one lecture in which a head scientist from BARC was guest speaker. And in the example of achievements of BARC made reactors, he included Nuclear-powered aircraft!

Finally,As always, great article with fine details.
Thanks sirji!

Prasun K. Sengupta said...

To INDRA: 1) Akash-1 was accepted into service only in 2015 whereas the LR-SAM & MR-SAM contracts were inked in the previous decade, thereby proving that the ‘desi patrakaar’ is nothing else but a RETARDED conspiracy theorist. 2) None of them were procured & they are still pending reqmts.

To PRAJJWAL DALAL: VMT. 1) No one is now bothered about J & K because everything is now back to normal & there are not any political detainees hailing from J & K. 2) Let them dwell within their respective conspiracy theories. 3) All of them in the medium-term. In the short-term, there is an urgent need to develop both medium-power & high-power laser effectors for ground-based & warship-based area air-defence. 4) Maybe he was referring to US-origin nuclear-powered aircraft or even nuclear-powered satellites of the type developed long ago (in the late 1950s) by both the US & erstwhile USSR.

Hi prasun
Its seems to have dawned on the IAF that they will never get a a large platform AWACS like the A330 type and at last have gone in for the emb-145 platform
will it not be more cost effective to do that as the major R&D have been finished and it has been battle tested as well. every body seems to be happy with its performace a rare thing form drdo!! at least a bird in the bush is better!!
will the later AESA modules on the awacs be of Gan type ?you have explained there is a pilot plant making them. what would be the main improvements that you forsee on the later emb-145 awacs?
what are the main advantages of the il-76 awacs over the emb-145 leaving alone the time on air , radar range and 360 awarness?
Is it true that the pak ew warfare airborne platform managed to jam the comms between the awacs and fighters? there seems to be a requirement of jam proof comms!.
can we get cutting edge hardware and spoftware form US for the awacs due to the recent agreements and the new found bonhomie?
can we get laser effectors fromm US ?.
china seems to be settling down for a winter in the border what are its compulsions given it untrained troops. will they rotte like us?
is it true that jf-17 are facing quality problems and are only 60% availble?.

Prasun da,

I know this question was asked lot of time to you and every time you have had answered it. The question is about Super Sukhoi 30MKI. Russian has upgraded there Su30SM to Su30SM2 level - Major upgrades are engine and radar Al-41F1S and N035 Irish radar. There is report or will say rumor that India denying these updates on their Sukhoi's reason being IAF wanted AESA radar and the current Al41F1S is underpowered for this Radar. In one of your reply you'd mentioned that Russia will offer AL41F1 - Same engine that will go on Su57 plus India is looking for AESA radar - Perhaps Isreal or Uttam or indigenous GaN radar.

Can you please clear the confusion.

Aslesha radars a total of 21 were ordered.

2)These ALGs our provided AD cover by IA UPG ZU-23-2s which are used along with Thales Nederland Reporter tactical radar(29 were ordered).

3)The IA has deployed Bharani 2D radar which are used along with MANPADS like Igla near Pang, tso and demchok and two more locations in UtK (16 were ordered).

Are my inferences correct if any changes pls tell

Are the AA guns along with aslesha Permanently deployed in the ALGs

and are the MANPADS also always co located with the Bharani?

To AMIT BISWAS: Had never registered with Twitter under any name, nor will ever register, rest assured. It all can be proven through forensic evidence, whenever reqd.

To RADHA/RAD: At least six more EMB-145I AEW & CS platforms are reqd. Meanwhile, meet the new generation of AESA-MMRs for ISR purposes, the THALES Airmaster-C:

https://youtu.be/_03d1Z1qXoc

https://www.thalesgroup.com/sites/default/files/database/document/2020-10/PR_20201016_Thales%20launches%20AirMaster%20C%20ultra-compact%20airborne%20surveillance%20radar.pdf

And since hypersonic glide-missiles are already operational with China, the IN requires high-power laser effectors ASAP:

https://drdo.gov.in/sites/default/files/monographs-documents/28-highpower-lasers.pdf

https://www.mbda-systems.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/1404_EST_Einsatz-von-Laserwaffen-in-der-Marine.pdf

SIDHARTH: No connection at all between turbofan & AESA-MMR. The IAF wants the same turbofan to power the Super Su-30MKis as that meant for the FGFA. Russia has promised this to India. Uttam AESA-MMR will not be available till 2028. Of its 21 operating modes, only 12 have been developed so far. Hence, the Russia-developed NO-36 AESA-MMR suite will be procured.

To SANJAY: From where is all this nonsense coming out? The Indian GISAT constellation will not cover the areas around Taiwan & instead will focus only on the IOR area.

To PRATIK: No one in India has to date developed such deep-diving submersibles.

To GOVIND: Nonsensical conspiracy theories, since they do not take into account that reduced water-flow into India will also result in much more reduced water-flows into Bangladesh & Pakistan.

To AJAY/INDRA: Situation has changed a lot since 2012. Far better ISR assets are now in place in that theatre.

Firstly you have a great blog and it is amazing you have kept it vibrant and going for so long.

My question to you is this channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A82XWO32a0g, and some newspapers are touting the recent agreement to disengage as a victory. However the PLA had always maintained even during previous discussions that India pull back to finger 2.

Now, if the stretch from finger 4 to finger 8 is a no patrol zone then how is this returning to status quo. Also, what the IA could not patrol from May has been extended to finger 2. This is still salami slicing in an attractive Diwali gift wrap.

It appears the can has just been kicked down the road for a future government/generation to sort out.

Your thoughts please.

To Sceptical Corona Observer: Disengagement is always of a temporary nature & is not enduring. De-escalation by moving back to peacetime locations is of a semi-permanent nature, i.e. restoration of status quo ante. In my view, therefore, disengagement is not preferable & instead of even status quo ante, India should insist on agreeing to a common map of the LAC being delineated on a map common to both countries, so that the 4 existing perceptions of the LAC are done away with for good.

To DASHU: No, the PLAGF isn’t inside GB, only the PLA Construction Corps is for the hydropower projects.
