China's Offshore Military Outposts In South China Sea, Reclaimed From Reefs & Shoals between December 2013 & January 2017

For ferrying a wide variety of industrial equipment meant for installation on such reclaimed islands, state-owned CSIC has built customised cargo freighters equipped with heravy-duty cranes.

If there are proponents of Khalistan in the UK & Canada, then they must be encouraged to carve out such a country in terribly under-populated countries like Canada. They are most welcome to do so there, BUT NOT inside India. They cannot sit tens of thousands of miles away & keep scheming up all kinds of strategies about creating Khalistan out of Indian Punjab. Let them do it in the very place where they are now staying, i.e. Canada. Let's see if Canada allows this to happen.

To BHOUTIK: LoLz! And yet, 'refusing to develop' Netas insist on MAKE IN INDIA!!!

To ASHISH GAUTAM: LoLz! Why should such a drone be developed when the IAF already has far better HAROP UAS for such missions?

To BLACK BOX: That RFP is for SINGLE-ENGINED FIGHTER.

Prasunda,

It looks Pakistan is in for a tight squease with the FATF grey listing.

What could be the ramifications of this in the near future for Pakistan vis-a-vis debt financing, CPEC and the looking elections considering Nawaz Sharif has been disqualified to lead his party?

Does IAF still use ST-68 Tin Shield, TRS2215, P12/15/18, Indra II radars? What do trasportable Radar Units(TRU) of IAF carry now? GS 100 LLTR or Rohini.

hi prasun
what is the use of firing the dhanush from sea ? what is the purpose? when we have agni series and nirbhay. it does not make sense unless we are testing a new version of anti ship missile?
china seems to have issued individual integrated networked bms system > what ever happened to our system that was launched when dr kalam was around ?

Is a full scale flight of the RV on the cards? it seems to be very optimistic after just one scale model flight ? as according to Dr Sivan

How many ships in Indian Navy are armed with Dhanush missile? And how many missiles do each ship carry?
Also in what scenarios can they be used most effectively?

Newcomer: India has a signed instrument of accession (signed by the Maharaja of Kashmir) making Kashmir part of India. At the time of partition, the former princely states of the British Raj had to choose between acession to India and accession to Pakistan, and the choice was to be made by the rulers. There was no provision for referendums/plebiscites of any kind. The so-called "UN Resolution on Kashmir" was violated by Pakistan and hence became null and void.

Sir, why was Pakistan not mentioned in FATF statement yesterday? Some ppl are saying Pakistan's name is not in grey list and decision will come in June, others are saying that they are already in grey list and if they don't cooperate then they could be blacklisted after 3 months. Please explain what exactly has happened.

In the coming years, greater focus will be on Made in India. Unfortunately foreign agents will have to sign off or make it happen for to Made in India. In the meantime, over the next few years of transition we shall see lot of fulminations and emotional responses, especially people who have been obstructing Made in India, and it will be entertaining to see all that

sir,
could you please shed some credible light on pak's greylisting by FATF.
There is some talk on pak media that pak has actually got a 3 month reprieve, & now if pak shows a roadmap to FATF to clamp down on terror financing then pak's name will be removed from greylisting otherwise economic sanctions will follow. On the other hand some news report show that greylisting is now sure & pak has to sit down with FATF to prepare a roadmap to end terror financing, once pak does this greylisting will follow.
could you please clear the air as to wwhat exactly is happening & what will happen in june & the months to follow.

Thank you

Prasun K. Sengupta said...

To SOIKOT BABERJEE: That is just an RFI, not an RFP & therefore it is only an information-gathering exercise. Depending on the responses to the RFI, the definitive RFP will be issued with clear-cut divisions of work/orders.

To ANIK: Not true. What is being used are 105mm IFGs & T-55 tanks used for direct-fire on enemy bunkers & posts using 105mm HE ammo. T-55s were deployed in & around Uri last October itself. As for counter-guerrilla campaigns, these are attrition-based affairs & require a marathon, & not a sprint. Once more assets become available to the Afghan Air Force, the Taliban will start losing ground, especially in the southwest around Helmand & Sangin.

To JAY: There have been several Made-in-India projects underway since the 1950s, but till today it is all about foreign weapons/platforms being made in India! This can come to an end only if more platforms & their sub-systems are all locally designed, locally engineered & only then locally produced. This isn’t happening. Presently, a Su-30MKI that would cost Rs.227 crores if bought off-the-shelf from Russia, rolls out of HAL's Nashik plant for over Rs.358 crore. For the licence-built Su-30MKIs therefore, India has had to fork out an extra Rs.131 crores per aircraft, or a whopping Rs.35,632 crores that could have been saved had all the Su-30MKIs been procured off-the-shelf. This kind of Made-in-India is ruinous & unaffordable. Imagine how much more could have been achieved had that Rs.35,632 crores been spent on expediting the development of the LUH & LCH, & construction of four LPHs by L & T or CSL for the IN.

To NARAYAN: Pakistan has been placed in the watch-list & by June will be placed in the grey-list. Initially in the 1st round of voting, China, Saudi Arabia & Turkey voted in favour of Pakistan, but when the US insisted on a second round of voting, only Singapore voted infavour of Pakistan. According to FATF rules, if there are 3 countries that vote against a resolution, then it cannot be adopted unless a second round of voting takes place in which less than 3 countries vote against the resolution. Once that happens, the resolution gets adopted.

To SENTHIL KUMAR: 1) Syria did fire SAMs but the IDF-AF F-16 wasn’t downed by any SAM. Nor was an F-35 downed. 2) I’m sure Brahma & Vishnu will take stong exception to your assertions about Shiva/Murugan. Can only hope that they don’t get pissed off with you & start exacting revenge.

To ASHISH GAUTAM: Any PTA being turbojet-powered will create helluva noise when flying, thereby warning off potential targets. Hence no one in their right mind will even dream of fieldsing such PTAs for such missions. Inbstead, loitering drones powered by fuel-cell batteries that emit far lesser noise while loitering in the skies are a much preferred option.

To VED & RAD: Only 1 NOPV of 1980s vintage can fire the Dhanush. And this vessel does not carry any such missile on-board. The Dhanush is always loaded on to the OPV prior to the test-firing, i.e. it is as good as not having it at all! Full-scale RV is still a few more years away & wi8ll be ready only by 2025. More flight-tests of scaled-down models are reqd.

To MAN VAN: IRBMs & MRBMs can be intercepted at lower altitudes with endo-atmospheric interceptors while ICBMs tend to attain higher altitudes & therefore require exo-atmospheric interceptors.

To NEWCOMER: Read the UNSC Resolution No.47 & also my earlier thread that contains slides explain how the ceasefire negotiations were conducted in 1948 & why was the Instrument of Accession regarded as a legally valid document by the UNSC.

Prasunda I am quoting a Defence Officer here "Trust me.... I have interacted closely with Russians during the commissioning of Satpura.,.. Grade 1 chor hai saale.... And at the same time..... Indian scientists are supremely pathetic.... Indigenous systems take years to be proven .... So... It's a lose lose situation for the faujis 😐".

Prasunda the situation as outrageous as that. Outright Import ensures Timely Quality and Cost-effective Delivery though not politically expedient. Nobody will ever sell /give you technology. You have to develop it yourself. The matter of Surkari naukri scientist is best left aside. Assembly of phoren maal just creates some PSU employment. If atleast MRO bases are built here more employment opportunities and technology base for SMEs would be built. Everybody, except Indian govt. does that. Russians are the worst, they have very poor on time delivery and poor after sales support.

Most of our so called indigenous product just assembly of imported components anyway, whether P15/16/17/ Ships, LCA/ALH/LTA aircraft, Arjun Tanks and even trucks. Small and Medium Enterprises have to develop and manufacture machine parts on their own to develop a Military Industry Complex

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cf--cTcLbqI

To SUJOY MAJUMDAR: 1) Let’s first see if this pipeline crosses from Afghanistan into Pakistan. 2) That is the nature of guerrilla warfare.

To ANIK: The predictions are not entirely true, but yes the Nepali politicians are hopelessly corrupt & are beyond redemption. But if they ever try to prevent the Gorkhas from joining the IA, then there will be a popular violent revolt there, since lakhs of Gorkhas are dependent on the IA for salaries & pensions. Therefore, Nepal won’t rock the boat beyond a certain red-line drawn by India, rest assured.

To ASHISH GAUTAM: Not only that, but the political mainstreaming of the JuD, FIF, LeT & JeM is now set to further fuel all kinds of insecurities about the safety of Pakistan’s nuclear WMDs. Thus, everything is moving ahead as planned.

To KAUSTAV: The handicaps have been faced not by the DRDO (since their engineers always have access to global industrial patents), but by the military-industrial complex in terms of deficient capacities & capabilities. After all, the DRDO can in general only design weapons, but they are next-to-useless if local industry can’t manufacture tham to the desired standards. In areas like field & rocket artillery, for instance, where a reasonable degree of military-industrial proficiency has been achieved, one does not come across any QC/QA problems, e.g. the Dhanush-45 or ATAGS howitzers. I will explain it in detail in a future thread.

@ PRASUN SIR
I belive what india lacks is " mindset of industrial engineering "....product development from concept stage to production and relevant to market demands....without which its difficult to achieve industrial efficiency/cost effectiveness to meet the challenges of market ......alas even in commercial sector we dont have a indigenous diesel engine product as you have mentioned earlier.......also there is only one good institute( not enough) of industrial engg. i.e. NITIE in mumbai for developing such kind of human resources, which cant be developed overnight.....all the govt. are busy in creating IITs/IIMs for creating future talent pool for USA rather India

also you did not uploaded op sea scuttle slides yet......when should we expect it

Thanks for your reply.

1. Kurdistan: The creation of Kurdistan is a key goal of the United States
http://micetimes.asia/the-creation-of-kurdistan-is-a-key-goal-of-the-united-states/

Recently US decided to create strong 50,000 Kurds army in Turkish border.

So Middle East Game next innings started. Israel ultimate goal is to weaken Syria, Turkey and Iran.

Until there is a united Syria "GOLAN HEIGHTS" will be a problem for Israel. So Israel & US will try to break Syria. But Iran & Russia will never allow it to happen.

Next Iran & Turkey are future enemies for Israel. Now ground work started to disturb Turkey.

2. Shiva/Murugan

You quoted "I’m sure Brahma & Vishnu will take stong exception to your assertions about Shiva/Murugan. Can only hope that they don’t get pissed off with you & start exacting revenge."

But I accept only Vishnu will start exacting revenge not Brahma. Brahma is a god created during 5 Century AD in Gupta Period by Aryans to Show their supremacy.

Please give your comments.
